Perform all tasks involved in the production products. May include rubber, stretch cord, sewing and packing. In addition to performing assembly line functions, also calibrates equipment and maintains tools.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Reads process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements as assigned by department supervisor.
• Sews, cuts, clips, hooks or otherwise assembles the materials to produce sub assemblies or finished product from raw materials.
• Involves such processes as insertion of materials, clamping, fitting parts and use of some hand tools. May cut pipe to specific dimensions as required by fabrication job
• Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
• May perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools, and electronic and pneumatic tooling.
• May align layout marks with die and blade, and position materials being joined to ensure accurate application of adhesive.
• Calibrates, and performs basic repairs using documented procedures.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines.

Nature and Scope

• Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
• Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
• None.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

$21.00-$28.90 Hourly
