Production Artist About the Role Skybound is looking for a detail-oriented and technically minded Production Artist to join our creative team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing creative work to its final, polished form and has a strong eye for typography, layout, composition, and production quality. As a Production Artist, you’ll be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and preflighting files for print and digital production, troubleshooting production issues, retouching and preparing images, maintaining digital archives, and creating additional design collateral to support editorial and marketing projects. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director, Editorial and graphic design team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where attention to detail, organization, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Key Responsibilities Prepare, format, and preflight creative files to ensure they are accurate and production-ready. Review files for technical issues, including typography, layout, image quality, color, dimensions, and other prepress requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues to keep projects moving on schedule. Retouch, resize, format, and prepare images for print and digital use. Ensure creative assets meet established brand and production standards. Create and update design collateral to support editorial, marketing, and other creative initiatives. Organize, maintain, and archive digital files and creative assets for easy access and future use. Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and graphic design team throughout the production process. Help identify opportunities to improve production workflows, file organization, and overall efficiency. Manage multiple projects and priorities while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy. Contribute creative ideas and solutions when appropriate, particularly for editorial and marketing projects. Requirements Qualifications 1+ year of experience in graphic design, production design, print production, or a related creative field. Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, and visual design principles. Experience preparing and reviewing files for print production and/or digital publishing. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve technical or visual issues. Highly organized with strong file-management and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable receiving feedback and working collaboratively with creative and cross-functional teams. A strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality and accuracy of final deliverables. Resume and portfolio are required. Nice to Have Familiarity with prepress standards and print production workflows . Experience with image retouching and production preparation. An interest in brainstorming creative concepts and contributing to the broader creative process. Experience working on editorial, publishing, marketing, entertainment, or consumer-facing creative projects. Passion for comics, games, animation, film, television, or entertainment .
