Job Description
We are looking for a creative and curious UX Designer to help build innovative products. As a member of a product design team, you will contribute to designing intuitive, accessible experiences for end users globally, working with guidance from senior designers and cross-functional partners. These experiences may span digital interfaces, physical products, connected devices, and the systems and processes that bring hardware and software together. You will collaborate with Product Managers, UX Researchers, Data Scientists, and Engineers throughout the design process—from learning the problem space and creating user flows and annotated wireframes to building prototypes and contributing to polished products and user interfaces. You will build an understanding of how interfaces relate to equipment, sensors, devices, data, and real-world workflows, and help shape end-to-end experiences across setup, installation, commissioning, monitoring, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will participate in feedback cycles, advocate for users, and iterate on designs to improve clarity, usability, and customer confidence.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineering to contribute to UX decisions, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities with guidance, while learning how design choices affect connected components and real-world outcomes
- Create and iterate on UX/UI deliverables (user flows, wireframes, prototypes, redesigns, and basic UI specs) and help validate designs through feedback, reviews, and usability insights, balancing interaction design, information clarity, and thoughtful visual execution.
- Help translate complex workflows into clear, consistent user experiences by applying established patterns, accessibility practices, and design system components, using systems thinking to map dependencies, states, handoffs, and consequences beyond a single screen.
- Support product design from discovery through delivery across software, connected products, and experiences that combine digital and physical touchpoints, partnering closely with engineers to ensure quality implementation.
- Contribute to experiences that help customers and technical users including operators, installers, integrators, field technicians, and maintenance teams—complete tasks with confidence by simplifying interactions and making information easier to understand.
- Learn and apply existing design standards and patterns, participate in design critiques, and incorporate feedback to continuously improve your craft and your understanding of unfamiliar technical domains.
YOU MUST HAVE
- 1–3 years of UX design experience (internships, co-ops, or equivalent project work welcome)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Passion for creating high-quality, intuitive user experiences and curiosity about how digital interfaces connect with physical products, devices, and processes, with a desire to learn and grow as a designer
- Foundational experience with UX practices such as personas, journey mapping, information architecture, and task flows, with the ability to consider end-to-end journeys and relationships among people, interfaces, devices, and processes
- Experience creating wireframes and prototypes and contributing to visual design (e.g., in Figma or similar tools)
- Familiarity with designing for multiple platforms, including responsive web experiences, and interest in learning about interfaces used alongside products, equipment, or connected environments
- Ability to communicate design decisions clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and incorporate feedback from cross-functional partners, including engineering and users with technical or operational expertise
- Desire to stay current with changing trends and technologies, and willingness to learn the context and constraints of complex systems without needing to be an engineering or domain expert
- Portfolio demonstrating UX process (problem framing, exploration, iteration) and examples of translating user needs into effective designs; examples may come from digital, physical, service, academic, or connected-product contexts
WE VALUE
- Exposure to user-centered design methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, or heuristic reviews, especially with technical, operational, or field-based users
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles, and interest in applying them in software and connected-product experiences
- Curiosity about how emerging technologies (including AI) can support UX workflows and product experiences, with willingness to learn through experimentation; familiarity with Human Factors, interaction design for physical systems, information visualization, or data-rich products is a plus
- Experience or exposure to physical products, connected products, IoT, industrial systems, or hardware–software experiences is valued. Relevant backgrounds may include medical devices, automotive HMI, manufacturing, robotics, smart home, consumer electronics, IoT products, industrial software, aerospace, or telecom equipment.
- Exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC, building automation, industrial automation, or smart buildings is helpful but not required; we welcome candidates who can transfer relevant skills from other domains.
