About the Role
The Product Test Lab Technician supports New Product Development and Engineering teams by executing lab testing, managing samples, and maintaining accurate documentation. Additionally, this role will support the design and development of lab fixtures required to perform product validation testing. This role reports to the Sr Manager, Innovation and is based at the YETI Thailand Innovation Center in Chachoengsao This position is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, curious, hands‑on, and energized by working in a fast‑paced, collaborative lab environment. This individual should be excited about joining a new Innovation Center and a growing team.
What You’ll Do
Lab & Product Testing
- Perform and document a wide range of on‑site laboratory tests including:
- Thermal performance
- Consumer product safety
- Accelerated life cycle testing
- Abrasion and material property testing
- Destructive testing
- Environmental exposure testing
- Durability and dimensional studies
- Support the identification and installation of new lab equipment
- Assist in the creation and refinement of custom test methods when existing standards are unavailable
- Author clear, accurate test reports in English, collaborating across teams to ensure testing results are communicated clearly and effectively
- Support the design and fabrication of test fixtures/tooling
- Support continuous learning and skill development within the lab environment.
Process Definition & Lab Operations
- Support the development, documentation, and standardization of lab procedures, work instructions, and test methods
- Contribute to building repeatable, well‑controlled testing processes within a growing innovation center
- Maintain high standards for procedure adherence, data integrity, and record keeping
- Identify opportunities to improve lab efficiency, organization, and testing consistency
Sample Inventory Management
- Manage sample intake, organization, usage tracking, and eventual destruction
- Maintain accurate records of sample location, status, and lifecycle
- Conduct audits to ensure traceability and compliance with lab protocols
What You’ll Bring
- Greater than 2 years of hands‑on technician experience in a testing or laboratory environment, preferably for a global consumer goods brand
- Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience with manual milling machine, cutting tool or welding is preferred.
- Experience with technical documentation and report writing in English
- English proficiency required – must be able to clearly communicate test methods, results, and findings both verbally and in written documentation
- Strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and curiosity to understand the “why” behind test outcomes
- Comfortable working with and analyzing large amounts of data
- Ability to manage multiple tests and priorities in a fast paced environment
- Passion for learning, procedure creation, and continuous improvement
- Personal transportation (car or motorcycle) with a license is required.
