Product Systems Analyst

Location: Johannesburg / Hybrid-3 days in the office

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Systems Analyst to support and maintain trading systems within a global markets environment. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technology teams to support trading teams, optimise processes, improve system functionality and identify technology solutions that enable business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective support to trading and business teams to ensure a stable production environment.
• Optimise processes and implement effective technology solutions for the Markets business.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and systems and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Translate business requirements into robust solutions that support business continuity.
• Participate in projects in a consulting or specialist capacity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure trading systems are configured for optimal performance and continuously improve existing functionality.
• Document system processes, procedures and policies.
• Develop troubleshooting and incident recovery procedures and support successful handover to relevant support teams.
• Manage security and regulatory compliance requirements for trading systems.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Elicit, analyse and validate requirements for changes to trading systems.
• Participate in change management processes and collaborate with various technology delivery teams.
• Stay informed of industry trends and share knowledge with team members and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for new or enhanced processes that improve business operations.
• Support the implementation of recommendations by communicating benefits and obtaining stakeholder buy-in.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• BSc in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Engineering or Statistics; or
• BCom in Information Systems, Finance or Investments; or
• BTech in IT, Engineering, Mathematics or Business Analytics.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.

Experience:

• 2–3 years' experience supporting trading systems.

Required Exposure & Knowledge

• Understanding of financial markets and the markets value chain, including:
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders.
• Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience analysing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information.
• Experience resolving accounting and P&L-related issues.
• Knowledge of Money Markets and Foreign Exchange (FX) products.
• Understanding of finance fundamentals, including:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to identify and minimise business and operational risks.
