Job Description


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
  • Experience in operational planning, including headcount planning, financial allocations, product roadmaps, or working in a chief of staff capacity within a technology company or a technology consulting firm.
  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree, MBA, or advanced degree in a business or quantitative discipline.
  • Experience with strategic planning, specifically aligning resourcing with multi-year Long-Range Planning (LRP) and annual budgeting cycles.
  • Quantitative expertise tracking organizational composition metrics, such as level mix, role mix, and site co-location benchmarks.
  • Proven capability leveraging artificial intelligence workflows or automation frameworks to optimize complex operational systems and forecast long-term talent structures.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity with a track record of translating complex corporate data sets into crisp, executive-ready presentations and guidance briefs.
  • Agility to handle pivots in business strategy and the resulting changes in scope/priorities.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

As a part of the Knowledge and Information (K&I) Central Strategy and Operations team, you will act as the core engine driving alignment, clarity, and operational execution across some of Google's most vital product areas such as Search, Ads, Geo (Maps/Waze), and Google Education. As a part of the Resource Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring talent, headcount, and operational capital are positioned optimally against long-term visions to shape the future direction of product and organizations.

In this role, you will merge strategic thought leadership with deep operational expertise, solve complex organizational challenges, accelerate business velocity, and drive alignment across highest strategic priorities. You will be an operational anchor driving K&I’s comprehensive resource roadmap.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $218000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Establish, refresh, and scale centralized guidelines across K&I PAs, establishing firm operational direction for location strategy, hiring principles, and site tiering.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to execute central resourcing initiatives seamlessly and eliminate operational friction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional working groups to form perspectives on the impact of AI on workforce composition and operationalize initiatives to test ongoing hypotheses.
  • Synthesize data to contribute to "Business Health Staples", tracking structural metrics and generating insights for executive leadership review.
  • Coordinate with the Strategic Planning working group to align resourcing to K&I’s annual and multi-year planning gates.
