Job Description

• Dynamic Work Environment
• 1 x Permanent and 1 x 12-month Fixed Term Opportunity
• Based in Sydney – Rozelle

You’re someone who wants to create outcomes that have a real impact on the people of NSW.

Your expertise in communication, problem-solving, empathy and conflict resolution are highly transferable and in-demand. Help us foster satisfaction and service experiences that transform lives of our community.

You will be responsible for delivering high quality, team based customer service across a wide range of maritime products and services. This includes processing and managing mooring applications, issuing aquatic licences, overseeing boat code activities, processing infringements, and supporting outsourced transactions such as boat driver licences and vessel registrations. You will also assist with additional operational tasks as required.

As a Product Services Officer, your responsibilities will also include:

• Providing phone support and high quality customer service across the full range of NSW Maritime products and services, ensuring best practice delivery and consistent product knowledge.

• Supporting the 7 day call centre function within Transport for NSW Maritime offices.

• Providing administrative and back office support for on water activities, including information management, data entry, and maintaining accurate database records.

This is a Monday–Friday position working 35 hours per week; however, occasional weekend and public holiday work may be required to meet operational needs.

About you

You’re an excellent communicator who thrives in a large team environment while also being capable of working independently. You consistently deliver a high level of customer service and can confidently prioritise and manage your workload without compromising attention to detail. You have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook—and are comfortable navigating and completing tasks within Microsoft based systems.

You’re someone who values being part of a diverse, supportive, and forward thinking team culture. If you consider yourself a customer service star who gets genuine satisfaction from helping and educating others—and you have a real interest in recreational boating in NSW—we’d love to hear from you!

We currently have two opportunities available — 1 x permanent role and 1 x up to 12 month fixed term contract — both based onsite in Rozelle, Sydney. For the first six months, you’ll be required to work onsite full time to complete training. After this period, the role will transition to a hybrid arrangement, combining work from home with onsite days in Rozelle in line with Transport’s hybrid working policies. The starting salary for this position is Transport Maritime Officer Grade 3, with a base salary of $77,627 per annum, plus superannuation and leave loading.
