About the Role

As a Product Service Engineer, you will serve as a critical technical resource for customers, distributors, and internal teams. You will investigate product performance issues, conduct field analyses, support product installations, and provide technical training to ensure our products deliver exceptional reliability and performance.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems who enjoys a balance of engineering analysis, hands-on troubleshooting, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Problem Solving

  • Conduct field investigations using mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Analyze product performance issues and perform root cause failure analysis.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers, distributors, and service personnel.

Product Installation & Commissioning

  • Lead and support new product installations and start-ups.
  • Verify equipment alignment, performance, and control system functionality.
  • Ensure installations meet Twin Disc quality and performance standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Service teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide field feedback to support continuous product improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with product validation and performance evaluations when required.

Training & Documentation

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver technical training programs for customers, distributors, and service personnel.
  • Create and update service manuals, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
  • Serve as a product expert by maintaining current knowledge of Twin Disc products and design updates.

Travel

  • Travel up to 25% to support field service activities, customer visits, training events, and product installations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant engineering or technical service experience.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized service tooling.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting industrial equipment, power transmission systems, marine propulsion systems, or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of electronic controls and system integration.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs.
  • Familiarity with JDE EnterpriseOne or similar ERP systems.
