Product Security GRC

As a Product Security Engineer or Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping not only the security of our deliverable products but also the overall project security landscape. In this position, you will champion a structured approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber, information, and system security risks across our platforms, ensuring compliance with customer mandates and industry frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain security documentation to support system design, operation, and authorisation processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments ranging from simple to complex; articulate key risks and collaborate with engineering teams to align mitigation strategies with risk appetite.
  • Ensure compliance of BDA products and systems with applicable industry standards and security frameworks.
  • Lead and coordinate system authorisation efforts as a representative of the product owner.

Product Security Engineering, Architecture, and Design

Building secure products and capabilities begins well before platforms or systems are constructed. Security must be thoroughly embedded from the initial concept phase through to delivery, ensuring a comprehensive approach throughout the entire engineering lifecycle. As a Product Security Engineer or Analyst, you will lead and influence this end-to-end security strategy, shaping the security posture of our products and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, lead, or advise on appropriate security standards, controls, and requirements to satisfy functional, operational, and customer-driven needs.
  • Design and apply security architectures of varying complexity to support product objectives.
  • Conduct or support product-based threat modeling and technical risk assessments.
  • Employ systems thinking to integrate product security into both existing and new systems.
  • Support verification and validation efforts to confirm that the product operates as intended securely.
  • Leverage engineering expertise to facilitate the integration of modern security tooling and technologies across current and legacy systems or environments.

Secure System Operations Specialist

Secure system operations are critical to maintaining our products' competitive edge by providing users with a safe and secure environment to develop project-related applications, documentation, and design data. In this role, you will ensure the integrity and security of system operations throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, support, and implement security operations policies, procedures, and activities.
  • Participate in evaluating the effectiveness of security controls.
  • Contribute to security-related audits and assessments.
  • Ensure secure and reliable data flow across BDA systems.
  • Conduct or support system security monitoring, including configuration and analysis of SIEM alerts, system log reviews, and event reporting per governance standards.
  • Lead and coordinate response actions for cybersecurity incidents affecting BDA systems or products.

To be successful you will have some or all of the following:

  • Working knowledge of the DSPF, PSPF and ISM is essential. Familiarity with NIST, ISO and the application of maturity models is desirable
  • The ability to develop and implement information, system or cyber security practices in an engineering environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex security concepts to a broad and varied audience.
  • A desire to work as part of a dynamic team supporting a range of technology
  • Relevant industry recognised security qualifications (CISSP, CISM, ISO 270001, IRAP) and/or relevant experience
  • Relevant technical tertiary qualifications are required for any role within the PSE Engineering, Architecture and Design area.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance - The preferred applicant will be required to successfully undergo the security clearance vetting process up to Negative Vetting Level 2. The preferred applicant MUST be willing to disclose all relevant and required information for this assessment.
