Job Description

Are you an energetic and results-oriented person who wants to move our customers’ performance forward?

At Valmet, we are shaping the future of sustainable packaging and paper solutions through innovation, collaboration, and a seamless lifecycle approach. Join us in advancing the packaging and paper business, as we move forward with our renewed strategy to Lead the Way. This means pioneering smarter technologies, expanding our service capabilities, and delivering customer value across the entire lifecycle—from raw material to finished product. If you're ready to make a real impact in a dynamic, future-focused environment, we invite you to grow with us.

Join us as Product Sales Manager, Winders, and take ownership of winder modernization sales across EMEA. You will work directly with customers, identify improvement opportunities, lead sales projects and negotiations, and help mills improve competitiveness through technical and commercial solutions. This is a highly visible international role where you can combine deep technology expertise with customer engagement and business impact.

This role is located in our Vantaa office.

Your responsibilities

  • You will drive winder modernization sales activities across EMEA in close cooperation with local sales teams.
  • You will identify customer needs and develop technical and commercial solutions that improve customer competitiveness and satisfaction.
  • You will lead sales projects, technical audits, application work, negotiations, and the timely delivery of quotations.
  • You will collaborate with Mill Sales Managers, capital sales teams, sales support, engineering specialists, and technology experts.
  • You will collect, analyze, and act on market feedback while maintaining customer relationships and accurate sales reporting.

Expectations for you

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering, process or paper technology, automation, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, management, R&D, sales, or a similar technology-focused environment.
  • Deep knowledge of winder technology, products, solutions, and customer processes.
  • Fluent English communication skills; Finnish, Swedish or other language are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80 days per year across Europe.

To succeed in this role

To succeed, you bring strong technical expertise, the ability to lead international sales opportunities, and confidence in working with customers across different cultures and business environments. You are curious, open-minded, proactive, and a collaborative team player who can balance commercial and technical discussions while driving projects forward.

We also expect you to align with Valmet’s Leadership Principles—practical behaviours that guide how we lead, collaborate, and succeed together:

  • Take accountability – Act with ownership, set clear expectations, and follow through
  • Lead with courage – Champion change, try bold ideas, and learn quickly
  • Build on trust – Listen to understand, be open, and create psychological safety
  • Collaborate for growth – Work across boundaries, value diverse perspectives, and focus on customer value

We offer

You will become part of an international team focused on helping customers improve performance through modernization solutions. The role offers broad exposure to customers across EMEA, close collaboration with sales and engineering experts, and the opportunity to influence business growth and technology development.
