Product Safety Engineer, Senior
The Senior Product Safety Engineer leads the development and implementation of hazard management methodologies to minimize corporate exposure to product liability. This role provides technical expertise in product safety and liability analysis while collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead product safety reviews and provide risk mitigation guidance during product development
Drive product liability investigations and support litigation defense strategies
Develop and maintain hazard assessment processes, safety standards, and test procedures
Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies and regulatory requirements
Research industry, legal, and liability trends to improve product safety practices
Contribute to continuous improvement of Engineering Product Safety (EPS) processes
Support coordination and effective use of EPS resources to meet departmental goals
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (required)
Postgraduate technical degree (preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
Experience in product safety, liability analysis, hazard management, and regulatory compliance
Strong product design knowledge and ability to analyze failures and recommend corrective actions
Effective technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
8+ years of experience in product safety, hazard assessment, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance within product development environments.
Full-time availability with flexibility to support cross-regional collaboration. Open to travel to the United States as required to support project and team objectives.
