Job Description

The Vehicle Product Quality Engineer will focus on monitoring, analysing, and improving vehicle quality, post-production. The role excludes pre-production and development phase activities, focusing on all Volvo products in dealer and customer service environments, with a regional focus in the assigned market area.

Key areas of focus:

  • Quality monitoring
  • Identification and scoping of Market Concerns from external indicators.
  • Evaluation and escalation of potential product quality issues.
  • Continuous monitoring of Technical Exchange System (TES) concerns.
  • Communication with National Sales Companies and Product Performance Level 2.
  • Market investigation and data analysis to support technical resolutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Representation

  • Represent Markets in the Region towards Product Performance.
  • Represent Market Monitoring EMEA and Product Performance in technical meetings and communications.

Issue Identification & Escalation

  • Identify, define, quantify, and prioritize product deviations based on Vehicle Reports (VR), Warranty data, Parts sales, and Customer feedback.
  • Document and escalate Market Concerns via Technical Exchange System (TES).
  • Update and drive TES concerns through to resolution with Product Performance Level 2.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain continuous, clear communication with market technical staff and central Product Performance teams.
  • Inform markets on progress, actions, and resolutions for technical concerns.
  • Support Product Performance by conducting market investigations and providing vehicle reports.

    Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Perform Early Warning and trend analysis on warranty data.
  • Monitor and report field performance indicators to highlight emerging quality issues.
  • Provide regular feedback on TES status, VR trends, and implemented solutions.

    Training & Support
  • Train dealer technicians on vehicle reporting quality improvement.
  • Support markets with technical knowledge sharing, Technical Journals, and field insights.

DELIVERABLES

  • Updated Technical Exchange System (TES) records and Market Concern reports.
  • Regular Early Warning and warranty data analysis reports.
  • Documentation of market investigations and field findings.
  • Dealer training session summaries and improvement plans.
  • Communication updates to markets on issue progress and resolutions.
  • Maintain communication with workshops through the TIE reporting system.

Qualifications

  • Native Portuguese speaker.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Able to communicate effectively in professional and business settings in all three languages.
