Job Description

As a Product Partner, you will support the Product Partnering team and the broader Product Quality, Quantity & Compliance department across all Irving Oil business lines. Your goal will be to work directly with managers and subject matter experts to help implement and maintain compliance with product standards and regulatory requirements within your assigned business unit. Your success will come from ensuring product standards are consistently applied, supporting compliance activities, and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to uphold regulatory and quality expectations across the organization.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead, influence, and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders within the assigned business unit to help shape both tactical and strategic product quality initiatives

  • Anticipate long‑term business needs and industry trends, partnering closely with business units and the Product Partnering Manager to plan accordingly

  • Oversee the flow of product‑related information between the assigned business unit and the PQQC, (Product Quality, Quantity & Compliance) team, ensuring timely, consistent, and accurate communication

  • Proactively identify, monitor, and communicate product quality integrity risks, trends, and status updates

  • Act as the primary point of contact and trusted strategic advisor to business unit leadership regarding product quality and compliance matters

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of fuel product quality standards, internal supply chain operations, and product integrity controls

  • Align supply chain initiatives with business unit objectives to mitigate PQQC, (Product Quality, Quantity & Compliance), risks and support overall business success

  • Support product quality incident management activities and provide guidance on commercial activities and agreements

  • Collaborate with fellow Product Partners to stay informed on trends and metrics, and contribute to the development and evaluation of workflow solutions and processes

  • Perform “on-call” duties as required

Your Skills:

  • Strong ability to influence without authority, supported by excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Advanced collaboration and relationship‑building capabilities, enabling effective partnerships with business unit stakeholders and PQQC team leads

  • High organizational strength, with the ability to analyze, prioritize, and manage multiple shifting priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating clarity, professionalism, and the ability to convey complex information effectively

  • High degree of learning agility and adaptability, with the ability to navigate and manage continuous change

  • Independent, results‑driven work style with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to negotiate timelines based on capacity and resource constraints

Travel:

  • Domestic and international travel might be required to support the business

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, technical or business field

  • Certificates in quality assurance/risk management programming/project management would be an asset

  • 5-10 years’ experience in product handling, supply chain and/or quality assurance would be an asset

  • Previous product quality management experience would be an asset
