What you will do

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Owner SharePoint Online to take end-to-end responsibility for SharePoint Online at tesa. In this role you own the platform in every sense: you develop, keep it running for our users day to day, you shape how it and you make sure it stays secure, governed and easy to work with. We are looking for a developper and not a simple SharePoint administrator. The position sits in our IT organisation and combines hands-on development and operational work with solution design and consulting for the business.

A large part of your time is spent close to our colleagues worldwide. You handle incidents and service requests, you lead the migration of legacy file servers into SharePoint Online, and you design the document management structures that our departments rely on. Alongside this operational ownership you work on demands and projects, and you build automation and low-code solutions with Power Apps and Power Automate where they create real value. You collaborate closely with our Modern Workplace team as well as with business stakeholders in Germany and at our international sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of SharePoint Online as a platform: Developement of complex Sharepoint applications and pages, configuration, governance, permissions, lifecycle and continuous improvement
  • Process incidents and service requests in our ticket system, including analysis, resolution, documentation and communication with the requester
  • Lead migrations from file servers and legacy platforms to SharePoint Online, from assessment and structure design through to cutover and adoption
  • Design and implement document management solutions on SharePoint Online, including site and library structures, metadata, versioning, retention and access concepts
  • Work on demands and projects together with business departments, from requirement clarification and solution design to implementation and handover
  • Build and maintain low-code solutions with Power Apps, Power Automate flows and SharePoint Lists to digitise and automate business processes
  • Support tickets and topics in the wider Microsoft 365 environment, for example Teams, OneDrive and related collaboration services
  • Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 services and evaluate new capabilities such as Microsoft Copilot for our collaboration landscape
  • Provide user training, documentation and expert guidance to drive adoption and effective use of SharePoint
  • Monitor platform health, run regular audits and continuously improve stability, security and user experience

What you will need

Required Qualifications

  • Several years of hands-on experience with SharePoint Online administration, configuration and solution design in a corporate environment
  • Practical experience running file server to SharePoint Online migrations, including structure and permission concepts
  • Solid knowledge of document management on SharePoint: libraries, metadata, content types, versioning and permission models
  • Experience building solutions with Power Apps, Power Automate and SharePoint Lists
  • Proven track record in IT service operations, working with incidents and service requests in a ticket system such as ServiceNow
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, in particular Teams, OneDrive and Entra ID based access management
  • Ability to work directly with business users, translate their requirements into workable solutions and explain technical topics in plain language
  • Business fluent English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

  • PowerShell scripting for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Experience with information governance, compliance, retention and records management frameworks
  • Experience with intranet and employee experience solutions based on SharePoint
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot or Copilot Studio and AI supported workplace scenarios
  • Microsoft certifications, for example in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform or Azure
  • Project experience in agile environments, ideally in a product owner or comparable role

Soft Skills

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the platform and its users
  • Service minded, with strong communication and organisational skills
  • Able to manage multiple tickets, demands and projects in parallel and to set the right priorities
  • Proactive, reliable and eager to learn new technologies
  • Comfortable working independently and with colleagues across global time zones
