Product Owner SAP Supply Planning (m/f)
This role is responsible for the delivery and ongoing support of the Supply Planning product within the planning product line and requires prior technical expertise in SAP (preferably S/4HANA, IBP, APO, or similar ERP planning platforms) to be effective. The Product Owner must possess a strong understanding of ERP data structures, planning logic, integrations, and configuration principles to translate business requirements into technically feasible solutions.
The Product Owner ensures that the Supply Planning product roadmap is translated into well-defined Epics and User Stories, grounded in a deep understanding of system capabilities and constraints, maintained in a prioritized backlog, and delivered by the product team in alignment with business and technical priorities.
Acting as the voice of Supply Planning stakeholders, the Product Owner bridges business and technology, leveraging prior ERP experience to validate requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure proposed solutions are scalable, compliant with system architecture, and aligned with enterprise standards. Customer expectations are managed through structured planning, execution, and regular sprint playbacks to the business.
The role is accountable for identifying and shaping innovative Supply Planning solutions that deliver measurable value while remaining technically robust, sustainable, and aligned with the broader ERP landscape. Solutions must be intuitive for planners and supply chain teams, yet architecturally sound and deliverable within available resources and agreed timelines.
Any impediments encountered during development will be addressed promptly by the Product Owner, who applies technical acumen to assess root causes, facilitate cross-functional resolution (e.g., with integration, master data, or IT teams), and escalate appropriately to maintain development velocity while safeguarding system integrity and business alignment.
As the subject matter expert for the Supply Planning product, the Product Owner advises the business on system capabilities, configuration options, data dependencies, and integration impacts, while advocating for solutions that optimize the end-to-end supply chain planning process within the SAP or equivalent ERP environment.
