Product Owners (POs) are responsible for writing the requirements of a product, they maximize the value by working closely with the development team to represent the product vision and goals as well as the stakeholders’ point of view. They are the owner of the backlog and collaborate with the dev team to effectively prioritize the sprints. They typically work in the team of a product manager who responsible for the vision and strategy of the product.You will be part of the Innovation Office, a product factory inside the health system of the University of Utah.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Gather requirements across multiple stakeholders: engineering, product, and partner teams, proactively managing dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs in highly matrixed environments.
  • Own end-to-end product scenarios from problem definition through launch and iterations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure product solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Oversee execution of the digital roadmap in an agile environment, ensuring alignment of initiatives in support of the broader strategy.
  • Contribute to the definition and tracking of product success metrics.
  • Drive experimentation and continuous improvement using telemetry, evaluations, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate across teams building platforms, applications, and integrations to deliver cohesive, end‑to‑end agent experiences.
  • Contribute to retrospectives and other feedback loops to identify improvement opportunities.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to foster collaboration.
  • Proven track record of writing requirements for a software project.
  • Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Innovative mindset with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and simultaneously handle multiple projects.
  • Experience working with project and change management techniques, including Agile frameworks, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience as a product owner/manager or software development experience.
  • Experience working in a software development company.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Experience working in complex academic medical center environments.
  • Experience with lifecycle management in a fast-paced software environment.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow or JIRA
  • Experience in large scale data platforms.
