Job vacancies: Product Owners – Core Banking Eco System Mobile Channels

The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring the end-to-end efficiency, reliability, and innovation of the Bank’s payment ecosystem.


This includes:

  • The Core Banking Eco System, which oversees stability, scalability, and integration of payment systems and ensuring seamless processing of transactions;
  • The Mobile Channels focuses on delivering customer-centric digital payment solutions, enhancing user experience, and driving product innovation across digital channels.


As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping both the foundations and customer-facing layers of payment solutions, translating business needs and customer insights into impactful and value-driven features.

In this role you will:


The Core Banking Eco System

  • Lead initiatives to maintain and enhance the stability, scalability, and performance of core payment systems;
  • Oversee the lifecycle of payment platforms, including system upgrades, integrations, and transformation initiatives;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, scheme requirements, and security standards;
  • Collaborate with technology, operations, risk, and compliance teams to ensure robust and resilient payment infrastructure;
  • Monitor system performance, incidents, and operational KPIs to ensure high availability and reliability;
  • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and inefficiencies across payment workflows.

Mobile Channels

  • Define and drive the product vision for customer-facing digital payment solutions;
  • Translate customer needs, behaviours, and pain points into innovative and intuitive product features;
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog to maximize customer value, adoption, and engagement;
  • Work closely with UX/UI, business, and technology teams to deliver seamless digital payment journeys;
  • Leverage data, analytics, and feedback to continuously improve customer experience;
  • Drive delivery through agile methodologies, ensuring timely and high-quality product releases.

To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problem;
  • Commits resources to build a strong innovation portfolio and capitalize on new business opportunities;
  • Strikes the right balance between accepting workable solutions and pushing for better alternatives;
  • Ensures that organizational resources and support are focused on meeting customer needs;
  • Applies insights of the industry and trends to drive critical initiatives;
  • Leverages the organization’s key differentiators to develop a viable long-term strategy;
  • Makes appropriate compromises to arrive at solutions with others;
  • Builds effective professional relationships with stakeholders and decision makers.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role i.e. product ownership, product management, or related roles within payments;
  • Strong understanding of payment processing systems, payment schemes, and regulatory requirements;
  • Proven experience working with agile methodologies and product lifecycle management;
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into clear product requirements;
  • Proven ability to coordinate requirements and collaborate across multiple business functions, technology teams, and external vendors to support the successful delivery.
  • For the Core Banking eco System: Experience with T24 and payments systems.

OR

  • 5 years of experience in a similar role i.e. product ownership, product management, or related roles within payments;
  • Strong understanding of payment processing systems, payment schemes, and regulatory requirements;
  • Proven experience working with agile methodologies and product lifecycle management;
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into clear product requirements;
  • Proven ability to coordinate requirements and collaborate across multiple business functions, technology teams, and external vendors to support the successful delivery.
  • For the Core Banking eco System: Experience with T24 and payments systems


You will also be required to demonstrate:

  • Ability to empathize with end users and translate their pain points into practical solutions;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Familiarity with digital payment trends, technologies, and security standards;
  • Proficiency in agile tools and collaboration platforms;
  • Growth mindset and willingness to embrace challenges and continuous improvement;
  • Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
