Job Title: Product Owner - Aftersales Retail Applications

About MBRDI

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Our mission is to drive innovation and excellence in automotive engineering, digitalization, and sustainable mobility solutions, shaping the future of mobility.

As a Product Owner – you will act as the bridge between business strategy, product delivery, and validation. You will be responsible for defining the product vision, managing the backlog, and ensuring that the solutions delivered meet both business goals and user expectations. In addition, you will play a hands-on role in business acceptance testing, ensuring that each release aligns with functional, quality, and customer requirements.

This role demands strong analytical thinking, customer focus, and a deep understanding of both product management and BAT (quality validation) within an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Ownership and Strategy

  • Contribute to the product vision and roadmap in alignment with business strategy.
  • Represent customer and stakeholder needs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Define, refine, and prioritize the team backlog based on business value and technical feasibility.
  • Support PI Planning and educate Agile Release Train (ART) members on business priorities.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to translate strategic goals into actionable user stories.

2. Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with business analysts, stakeholders, and end users to identify problems, needs, and opportunities.
  • Build a deep understanding of customer journeys and ensure the solution delivers tangible value.
  • Drive alignment between business and technical teams through clear communication and regular feedback loops.

3. Business Acceptance & Quality Validation

  • Develop, execute, and document Business Acceptance Test (BAT) and scenarios.
  • Validate workflows, user journeys, and end-to-end processes to ensure business alignment.
  • Identify and document defects, collaborate with development and QA teams for resolution, and verify fixes.
  • Ensure system outputs align with expected results and business rules.
  • Maintain comprehensive test plans, acceptance criteria, and closure reports.
  • Support stakeholder testing activities and drive UAT readiness.

4. Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Leverage analytics and user behavior data to guide prioritization and product improvement.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure product performance and impact.
  • Translate insights from testing, feedback, and data analysis into actionable product enhancements.

5. Agile Collaboration

  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies—PI Planning, Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Foster built-in quality and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Balance diverse stakeholder perspectives while ensuring delivery of the highest-value features.
Qualifications - External
Qualifikationen

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 6–9 years of total experience, with a blend of Product Owner / Product Management and Business Acceptance Testing responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into functional and testable requirements.
  • Experience with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional global teams.
  • Exposure to Supply Chain, Logistics, or Automotive domain is an advantage.
  • German language proficiency is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), Knowledge of test management and defect tracking, End-to-End validation is an advantage
  • Understanding of Design, and execution of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios across Aftersales Retail Applications.
