Together, we provide a seamless, customer-focused experience that makes it easier for Australians to find the right products to suit their needs.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Energy Product Owner, you'll play a key role in shaping and optimising our energy comparison experience across digital and call centre channels. Working closely with technology, data, design and commercial teams, you'll use customer insights, performance data and market trends to drive product enhancements that improve engagement, conversion and business outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and contributing to the product roadmap, ensuring initiatives align with strategic business objectives.
  • Documenting epics, user stories, business rules and acceptance criteria to enable effective delivery.
  • Translating business challenges into clear, actionable requirements and agile-friendly solutions.
  • Leading and delivering small-to-medium optimisation initiatives across our utilities digital products.
  • Analysing customer behaviour, website traffic, conversion funnels and campaign performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Driving enhancements focused on customer experience, engagement, conversion and growth.
  • Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders including development, data, design and commercial teams.
  • Monitoring performance metrics, customer feedback and competitor activity to inform product decisions.
  • Supporting product delivery through backlog management, sprint planning and prioritisation activities.
  • Championing best practice in data governance, reporting accuracy and performance measurement.

At Compare the Market and iSelect, we're all about helping people make smart choices, and joining us might just be yours. We offer an environment where your ideas are heard, your contributions are valued, and your growth genuinely matters. Collaboration is part of our DNA and you'll be joining a supportive, forward-thinking team where you can do meaningful work (and be recognised for it!).

We're guided by three shared values that shape how we work, how we treat each other, and how we show up for our customers: Drive, Noble Intent and All Together.

Plus, we offer a range of great perks to help you thrive both in and out of work:

  • Vibrant and social community with annual celebrations, family fun days and regular events
  • Flexible work arrangements, including one day working from home each week or a 9-day fortnight
  • Additional leave days including 'ME' Leave and Volunteer Day Leave
  • Option to purchase additional leave
  • Return to Work bonus for returning parents
  • Quarterly Award and Recognition Program

What Sets You Apart

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I), or equivalent certification.
  • 5+ years' experience in a Product Owner role.
  • Experience within comparison services, retail energy, utilities or a closely related industry.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting customer behaviour, site traffic, conversion funnels and campaign performance data.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver growth opportunities through data insights, customer feedback and competitor benchmarking.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Experience using Confluence, Azure DevOps and AWS-based solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and product development practices.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, prioritisation and sprint planning activities.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with a focus on continuous improvement and customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to data governance, reporting accuracy and performance measurement best practices.
