In the Cloud tribe, in the Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) area, the position of Product Owner for Tibco BW has become available.
With your pragmatic and delivery-oriented professional attitude, you put your background and experience to good use as Product Owner for Tibco BW.
Together with the squad, the architect and the IT Area Lead you set the goals and work on a technical strategy to achieve those goals. You take ownership of the agreed solution ensuring that solutions delivered meet customer and business needs whilst adhering to legal, risk, and compliance requirements of the bank.
You will not be HR responsible for the engineers in the squad, because that responsibility lies with the chapter leads that we have in the Netherlands and with the chapter lead in Poland.
The team
The purpose of the Global Tribe Cloud is to build and run the target infrastructure platform in a (private) cloud delivery model. This delivery model is based on multi-tenant, self-service, pay-per-use capabilities for application DevOps teams as defined in the One Way of Working.
Tribe Cloud comprises five Global Areas:
• Infrastructure as a Service
• Data Services
• Platform as a Service
• Cloud API Platform
• Onboarding and Customer Experience
Tibco BW is part of the IAAS Area and is all about providing DevOps teams of ING worldwide with the self-serviced stack offering of Tibco BW. The Tibco BW squad is based in the Netherlands and takes responsibility for automating the self-serviced deployments, productizing new versions, delivering patches, and security fixes, and creating new features, mainly using Azure DevOps pipelines and Ansible.
Key responsibilities
Together with a squad of 5 engineers, you are responsible for the future of the Tibco BW offering and for staying within our risk appetite
Providing clarity to the team with clear goals.
Manage risk on the service/product you provide.
Manage the delivery roadmap of the product, which will require much alignment with other squads.
Take ownership of the product backlog by creating epics, user stories, and features with business value identified on each item.
Keep the stakeholders informed on the Product Roadmap and the progress of the feature delivery and upcoming releases via stakeholder demos, newsletters, etc.
Demonstrate, as and when required, the product capabilities and possible use cases to the new potential consumers.
Promote a clear product vision that has the customer as the focus, while maintaining a standardized solution.
Continuously align with the account team of the vendor (Tibco) to manage customer escalations and new feature requests.
Align with the ING procurement team and vendor’s account management team to keep track of software consumption and license extensions/renewals.Together with 6 other Product Owners of the IAAS Area you will be in several meetings, where you will share your progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
Work together with our chapter leads to make sure the squad consists of the right people and is performing well.
How to succeed
You are an energetic and proactive Product Owner with a true passion for IT and a positive “Do it-Try it-Fix it” mentality. You have a good understanding of Software Engineering and CI/CD. You are a natural team player who forms relationships based on social skills rather than a hierarchical structure. You can easily switch contexts from engineers to auditors to management.

Our ideal new colleague has:
Experience with Tibco products.
Experience as a Product Owner/ Agile Business Analyst within an international, complex, technology-based agile environment.
Experience in analysis, strong documentation, and good ability to break down requirements into epics, features, and user stories.
An inspiring passion in your presentations and in interactions with stakeholders.
A basic understanding of technology languages and applications.
Experience with our ING Private Cloud (IPC) infrastructure is an advantage.
Higher education in (Information) Technology or work experience that demonstrates you operate on this level.
Excellent command of the English language. Dutch language skills are an advantage but not a must-have.
