Role Definition

As a Product Owner you act as the strategic bridge between Program stakeholders and development teams, ensuring that products meet program needs and align with business Objectives. You will be translating complex business requirements into actionable tasks for Agile or Scrum teams. You will be supporting in development of features that are required for Autonomous Drills System (ADS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Define Product Vision: Establish and communicate the overall product strategy and goals to the development team and stakeholders.
  • Manage Product Backlog: Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team focuses on high-value features.
  • User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, clarifying requirements with the team as needed.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the liaison between Program owners, customers, and development teams, advising on product functionality and decisions.
  • Program Planning & Iteration: Participate in program increment planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews to ensure alignment with product goals .
  • Quality Assurance Support: Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and product demonstrations
  • Risk Management: Monitor potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Decision Authority: Make final decisions on backlog priorities and product features, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and program needs

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Autonomy Application & Embedded Software Development
  • Proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset for prioritizing features and evaluating product progress.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to maximize team and product value

Domain / System Understanding (Preferred)

  • System-level understanding of Caterpillar machines.
  • Experience with machine control, robotics, or guidance systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety and field deployment.

Degree Required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Electronics, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in guiding software development teams.
  • This position requires working onsite five days a week.
