Job Description

As a Product Owner you will be accountable for the customers view when building, delivering, and maintaining enterprise level solutions for Heathrow.

You will be responsible for engaging with senior management up to departmental director level to set the strategic direction of product sets and accurately translate these requirements into product roadmaps.

As part of a wider Heathrow IT DevOps team you will manage both internal and supplier teams to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of the customer’s requirements.

Working with the Head of Technology you will plan and execute a capital spend plan of between £1m - £3m per annum.

You will work with Technology Architects to understand any technical change requirements needed to maintain fit for purpose product sets and be responsible for the delivery of technical change, in balance with your customers functional requirements.

As part of a wider IT organisation you will work closely with Technology Business Partners, Service Managers and Crisis response teams in a matrix setting to lead the resolution issues causing operational impact.

  • Define and articulate product roadmaps aligned to department-wide customer requirements.
  • Translate customer requirements while developing capital plans to fund future initiatives.
  • Lead the delivery of new products alongside the ongoing maintenance of your portfolio.
  • Ensure prioritised features are released through drop cycles, with clear communication of new functionality to stakeholders.
  • Working with Technology Business Change to ensure business change plans are in place and service outages are prioritised and resolved
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (written, verbal, presentations), with experience engaging up to Director level in large, matrix organisations.
  • Strong people leadership capabilities, including delegation, negotiation, and conflict resolution within complex environments.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex concepts and drive clarity across cross-functional and integrated project teams, including supplier partnerships.
  • Solid experience delivering technology solutions within enterprise environments, including systems/software development, product management, or business systems analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile project delivery and working within enterprise-scale, matrix structures.
  • Experience across relevant product domains such as Commercial Systems, Airport Operational Systems, APIs & Data, Enterprise Back Office, or Infrastructure, supported by degree-level education and/or professional qualifications.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of HeathrowWorking arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
