As a Product Owner (hybrid – Norcross or Omaha), you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!
The Purpose of the role:
Responsibleformaximizingthevalueoftheproduct and workoftheDevelopment team.Accountablefor managing the Product Backlog, including adding/removing/grooming items and defining their priorities.
Communicates vision of the Product Manager to their scrum team and is responsible for prioritizing the product backlog to accomplish that vision. Participates in all Agile activities including backlog grooming, sprintplanning andsprintreview.Workwith theteamtogroombacklogitems:defineacceptancecriteria, help the team split and estimate stories. Chooses the right balance between feature development and technical(NFR)work tokeepthe productcompetitive.Availableasneededtoassist thescrumteamwith product questions and is given authority to make decisions about product features.
A typical day at ACI for a Product Owner:
Communicatingtheproductvisiontotheagile team/swithsupportfromproduct manager/Sr/Principal PO in the background.
Settingprioritieseffectively,i.e. prioritizingthe backlog,andensuringthattheteamunderstands why the stories are in a specific order to maximize the team’s output.
Elaborating/publishinguserstoryrequirementsinatimely fashion.
Clarifyinguserstoryrequirements/answeringteamquestionsquicklyandconcisely.
Creatingclear,testableacceptancecriteriaforstories.
Participatinginscrumteammeetings(grooming,planning,review,etc.).
Drivetheagileteam/sto break stories downintosmallerstoriesthatcomfortablyfitinasprint and have business value.
Recommendsprocessandqualityimprovements.
Sharingproduct expertisewiththeagileteam/s.
Engaginginternalstakeholdersandexternalcontactsasneededtoprovidedirectiontotheteam.
Drivesmaximizingthebusinessvalueandqualityoutputoftheagileteams.
Performotherdutiesasassigned
Understandandadhere toallcorporatepoliciestoinclude butnot limitedtotheACICodeof Business Conduct and Ethics.
Knowledge,SkillsandExperience needed to succeed in this role
Bachelor’sdegreeinrelatedfieldorequivalentexperienceinsoftwaredevelopmenttasks.
5+yearsofrelatedworkexperience.
Experience in payments, bank or merchant technologies, or related is desirable
