Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is seeking a Product Operations Manager/Sr. Product Operations Manager to join our Product Operations Team. Product Operations enables the achievement of product and business outcomes. Product Operations is responsible for process improvement design, tooling, automation, and leading all related cross-functional work and communication in support of our Product Teams.

We are seeking a Product Operations Manager to drive process optimization, governance, and continuous improvement throughout the Product Development Lifecycle with a specific focus on Go-To-Market (GTM) and Post-Launch Success functions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, refining, and standardizing processes that enable Product Operations Managers (POMs) to effectively support GTM and post-launch efforts. You will ensure POMs are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and knowledge to execute these initiatives consistently and efficiently.

You will lead the creation and implementation of standardized frameworks and best practices to ensure alignment with cross-functional stakeholders and operational consistency across product teams. This includes developing training materials, hosting workshops, and promoting efficient management of timelines, resources, and deliverables. You will also establish clear governance structures to ensure all stakeholders follow agreed-upon processes and adhere to quality standards.

Collaborating closely with POMs and engaging with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that GTM processes remain consistent across the product portfolio. You will also lead cross-functional training efforts to drive awareness and adoption of best practices, empowering teams to execute initiatives with greater alignment and efficiency. Through ongoing support and guidance, you will empower teams to overcome challenges, maintain transparency, and drive product initiatives that deliver measurable success and long-term value for the business and its customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage high-priority, cross-functional projects across the entire Product Development Lifecycle for their assigned Product team, with a strong emphasis on VOM discovery, Roadmap Planning, Go-To-Market (GTM), and Post-Launch Success initiatives, driving teams towards desired business outcomes
  • Effectively collaborate with individuals across various functions at all levels, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment
  • For assigned product teams, facilitates cross-functional alignment on success metrics and drives achievement of those metrics
  • Partner with product leads to support roadmap creating by aligning early-stage planning with Voice of the Market (VoM) insights, ensuring a structured and informed start to the PDLC.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of metrics and necessary instrumentation into GTM and Post-Launch processes, guiding teams toward desired actions and outcomes.
  • Drive change initiatives that streamline business processes and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
  • Communicate critical issues, risks, and decisions to leadership, driving alignment and ensuring action is taken to support outcome attainment.
  • Resolve cross-functional issues within projects and programs effectively, demonstrating leadership without positional authority
  • Develop insightful recommendations that align with and support the achievement of product team goals, using in-depth knowledge and experience.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and recommends changes to workflows, systems, or other areas as necessary to support the goals of the teams they interact with
  • Help define, document, establish and exemplify best practices for product operations, collaborating with team on process standardizations that enhance operational efficiency, consistency, and overall effectiveness of team.
  • Mentor team members, acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience and enhancing their professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

The Product Operations Manager position requires your experience in some or all the following:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in Product Operations and/or Product Management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills, with a proven ability to adapt to change and translate it into action plans.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent cross-company projects to successful outcomes.
  • Effectively influences without authority, with a proven history of aligning cross-functional leadership around shared goals and strategies.
  • Consistently applies a resourceful, solution-oriented approach to complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and consult across teams, driving collaboration and adapting PDLC communication to suit a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in leveraging analytics and driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Pendo, JPD, Power BI and JIRA

The Senior Product Operations Manager position requires your experience the following:

  • 5 -7 years of experience in Product Operations and/or Product Management
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills, with a proven ability to adapt to change and translate it into action plans.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent cross-company projects to successful outcomes.
  • Effective influences without authority, with a proven history of aligning cross-functional leadership around shared goals and strategies.
  • Consistently applies a resourceful, solution-oriented approach to complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and consult across teams, driving collaboration and adapting PDLC communication to suit a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in leveraging analytics and driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Skilled in leveraging voice of market insights and roadmap planning tools to inform strategic product direction, regardless of specific platform.
  • Extensive knowledge of Pendo, JPD, Power BI and JIRA

You may have other skills or credentials, including:

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with other Product Management tools, such as Jira Product Discovery, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, and customer feedback tools

Our targeted starting base salary in the United States for this position ranges from $100,000 - $140,000. To determine a new team member’s starting pay, we consider a variety of factors, including someone’s depth, breadth, and variety of experience, skills, and responsibilities. Depending on the role, team members may also be eligible to participate in additional compensation.
