Job Description

About the role

Earners — drivers and couriers — make thousands of small decisions every day: when to go online, which trips to take, where to reposition, whether to stay on for one more. The Earner Engagement charter builds the products that make those decisions easier and more rewarding, so earners stay engaged, productive, and want to keep earning on Uber. We're hiring a Product Operations Manager in Amsterdam to own this charter on the supply side and turn strategy into products earners feel every day.

This role is for an operator who is genuinely AI-native. The job isn't to hand-write queries or grind dashboards — it's to use AI to move faster than the problem: pull and analyze data, synthesize messy market signals, and get to a defensible answer in hours, not weeks. You'll also help run the operating model between Product/Engineering and Operations for supply health globally, so the org sees market deterioration early and acts on it.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Drive earner engagement rollouts: Own end-to-end rollout of engagement and motivation products — our flagship being Project Motivate — across markets, from experiment design and launch readiness to readouts tied to supply hours, earnings, acceptance rate, and safety.
  • Use AI to do the analytical work: Frame the right question, use AI/LLM tooling to pull and analyze the data, and — critically — know when the answer is wrong. The bar is being right about what the numbers mean, not hand-writing SQL.
  • Coordinate the tech–ops operating model on supply health: Run the operating rhythm between Product/Engineering and Operations for global supply-health monitoring (the MTM program), turning fragmented, market-level signals into decisions leadership can act on.
  • Own the earner-vs-marketplace trade-off: Make and defend the calls between what's best for the earner and what's best for the marketplace and the business, backed by evidence.
  • Partner across functions: Work day to day with Product, Data Science, Design, and regional Operations to align priorities and land global launches.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years in product operations, product management, consulting, or a comparable analytical role.
  • AI fluency (required): You already use AI/LLM tools in your real workflow — to build analyses, automate operational work, or reason over unstructured data. You can walk through a concrete example, not a course certificate.
  • Data judgment: You can independently frame a data question, get to the answer with AI and analytics tooling, and spot when the data is misleading or wrong. Hand-writing SQL is not required.
  • User centricity: Strong grasp of user engagement loops and retention — what actually makes people come back.
  • Ambiguity: Comfortable operating in high-ambiguity, high-change environments with competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with two-sided marketplaces, gig/supply platforms, or incentives, loyalty, and engagement programs.
  • Track record of owning a program area end to end and shipping measurable outcomes.
  • Comfort operating globally across regions and regulatory environments.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
