Job Description

Product Operations and Portfolio Program Manager

Description -

HP's Personal Systems business spans PCs, displays, software, and services designed for commercial, consumer, and gaming customers worldwide. At the center of this portfolio is HP's commitment to delivering secure, manageable, and differentiated end-user experiences that scale across global enterprises, governments, and SMBs.

As security threats continue to evolve, HP integrates protection across the entire Personal Systems ecosystem, from hardware and firmware to software, cloud services, and security solutions, enabling customers to confidently deploy and manage their fleets without compromising performance, usability, or resilience.

HP Wolf Security is a market-leading endpoint security portfolio that combines hardware-enforced security, threat containment, endpoint management, and cloud-based services to protect customers from modern cyber threats. The portfolio spans secure PCs, firmware and BIOS protection, cloud management platforms, endpoint security solutions, and innovative security services.

The Product Operations and Portfolio Program Manager provides operational leadership and business management across the HP Security GBU. This is a senior role which establishes the processes, governance, analytics, and cross-functional alignment needed to translate Security GBU strategy into measurable business and product outcomes.

Operating across product management, engineering, and teams internal and external to the GBU, this role drives portfolio execution, maintains operational rigor, identifies business and delivery risks, and ensures that decisions result in clear ownership and follow-through. The role serves as a central coordination point for complex initiatives that span organizational boundaries and do not have a single functional owner.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Portfolio Governance and Roadmap Operations
  • Establish and maintain governance processes for the Security GBU product portfolio, including roadmap reviews, prioritization, release tracking, and executive decision support.
  • Coordinate the internal and external roadmap processes across product management, engineering, support, category, sales, and other stakeholders.
  • Consolidate product-manager inputs into an external roadmap appropriate for broader HP audiences, facilitate periodic reviews, and route stakeholder feedback back to product owners.
  • Identify roadmap gaps, delivery risks, missing ownership, dependencies, and items without credible release dates.
  • Drive decisions on whether portfolio items should be completed, re-planned, escalated, removed, or moved to future planning periods.
  1. Program Leadership and Operating-Model Improvement
  • Lead complex, cross-functional programs that coordinate product management, engineering, and supporting functions.
  • Provide direction to project leads while maintaining program-level accountability for scope, stakeholder alignment, executive communication, and results.
  • Establish clear divisions of responsibility among program sponsors, program leadership, project managers, product managers, and functional teams.
  1. Business Performance, Forecasting, and Executive Analytics
  • Own recurring analysis of Security GBU product, revenue, shipment, attach, activation, licensing, and subscription performance.
  • Develop and maintain consolidated operating dashboards, business-performance files, forecasts, projections, and management views.
  • Create concise executive insights that explain performance, risks, assumptions, and recommended actions.
  1. Partner, Supplier, and Contract Coordination
  • Support operational management of strategic technology suppliers and partners when responsibilities span product, finance, legal, procurement, and business leadership.
  • Maintain working knowledge of contractual obligations, royalty structures, licensed components, reporting requirements, and amendment needs.
  • Coordinate the stakeholders required for supplier negotiations, contract changes, payment questions, and new partnership opportunities.
  1. Go-to-Market Enablement
  • Help Sales, WW Category, customer-success, and technical teams navigate the Security GBU portfolio, supported platforms, product configurations, and operational processes.
  • Ensure recurring field questions and customer needs are converted into documented requirements, market requests, Jira items, roadmap decisions, or enablement content.
  • Support customer-specific opportunities by validating product availability, configurations, dependencies, and implementation paths.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience leading complex global programs, portfolio operations, business operations, or product operations in a matrixed technology organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across product management, engineering, finance, category, sales, supply chain, legal, and customer-success functions.
  • Strong understanding of product-development lifecycle, portfolio governance, roadmap management, new-product introduction, and commercial operations.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including business modeling, forecasting, trend analysis, data reconciliation, and executive insight development.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities, with experience creating management dashboards and decision-oriented presentations.
  • Experience with Jira, SharePoint, Teams, and enterprise ordering, financial, and reporting systems.
  • Strong program structuring, stakeholder management, risk management, written communication, negotiation, and executive-presentation skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple complex workstreams with limited oversight.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to work effectively with security-product, software, firmware, hardware, and platform-engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced business, technical, or program-management education preferred.
