Some of what you will do:

This co-op role is a hands-on opportunity to support two key areas of the Merchandising team at Staples Canada. The role is split evenly between Own Brand product development and Drop Ship vendor operations. You will work closely with Product Managers, Merchants, Digital partners, and vendors to support product launches, onboarding, and day-to-day operational execution. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented student who enjoys working with data, managing multiple workstreams, and collaborating across teams.

Specifically, You Will:

Private Label / Own Brand (50%)

  • Coordinate across multiple teams within the Own Brands division, including Product Management, Quality Assurance, Packaging, and Design

  • Ownership of building important library systems for multiple Own Brand functions

  • Cross functional file and sample management, including organizing, archiving, monitoring, data collection and documentation

  • Role will include communication with product vendor teams

eCommerce / Dropship (50%)

  • Support the onboarding proces and ongoing merch operations of Dropship vendors and
    SKUs across Staples.ca.

  • Create and maintain SKU data, vendor information, and onboarding trackers.

  • Partner with Merchandising, Digital, and Customer Service teams to resolve product or
    data issues.

  • Request and track vendor information such as cost, content, and setup requirements.

  • Assist with Dropship reporting and identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Help investigate and resolve out-of-stock or availability issues with vendors

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Hybrid work model; four days per week working in the office and one day per week working from home

  • Work Term Duration: 4 months (May to August 2026)

Some of what you need:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

  • Experience in customer service and/or a retail store environment (or comparable experience)

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in business, commerce, retail, supply chain, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working with data, trackers, and multiple moving pieces.

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Interest in merchandising, private label development, eCommerce and dropship.

  • Previous co-op, retail, or analytical experience is an asset, but not required.
