Job Description
The Product Merchandiser plays a key role across the entire collection product lifecycle, ensuring accurate, efficient, and data-driven execution of all product & merchandising operations activities.
This highly analytical position focuses on monitoring product performance from sell-in to sell-out, leveraging insights to optimize assortment balance, pricing, and overall market alignment.
The role combines performance analysis with hands-on operational management, including maintaining product data in PLM systems, tracking collection progress, and supporting key milestones from development through go-to-market.
Key responsibilities include supporting assortment plan execution, maintaining PLM data, contributing to collection reviews, preparing product and sales campaign materials, and managing in-season activities.
The overall objective is to deliver a balanced, competitive, and commercially successful assortment through strong analytical insight, reliable data management, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-depth, ongoing analysis of product performance throughout the full lifecycle (sell-in to sell-out), tracking key metrics such as sell-through, style performance, cancellations, and carryover success to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to ensure a balanced and competitive assortment
- Prepare seasonal and ad-hoc performance reports to support SKU plan development, assortment optimization, and collection decision-making
- Support the execution of the assortment plan and monitor key collection milestones, including line freeze, delivery balance, and seasonal structure
- Participate in cost and margin review processes, providing data-driven insights to ensure alignment with pricing architecture and retail/wholesale strategies
- Conduct competitor and market benchmarking to evaluate product assortment, pricing positioning, and overall market relevance, supporting informed business decisions
- Maintain and update collection tracking files, monitoring the full product lifecycle from initial briefing through development, costing, approvals, and final presentation
- Contribute to product operational activities related to sampling, delivery offer weights, and color-level production tracking
- Participate in collection review meetings, supporting discussions with product performance insights and data analysis
- Manage and maintain all product information within the PLM system, including SKU plans, style codes, carryovers, pricing updates, and product modifications
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of product data across all collection phases and internal systems
- Maintain a structured, accessible repository of product data and performance analyses to enable data-driven decision-making
- Prepare and coordinate all product materials and tools required for the sales campaign, including sales books, order forms, digital platform files, and product presentations
- Gather and translate detailed product information (technical features, fabrics, benefits) into clear, engaging training and sales materials
- Serve as a key point of contact for sales teams during campaigns, providing product updates, resolving inquiries, and managing collection changes
- Monitor product performance during the campaign and collaborate with planning teams to address slow-moving styles and minimize cancellations
- Support and manage in-season requests, including late additions, re-runs, new openings, and specific customer needs, ensuring timely and accurate execution
- Ensure alignment across teams on timelines, collection structure, and commercial objectives
- Support key partner departments from a merchandising and product operations perspective to ensure smooth collaboration
- Use internal analytical and commercial platforms to monitor sales performance, manage digital order platforms, and support reporting activities
- Contribute to cross-department initiatives and support additional projects when required
Requirements
- Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in data interpretation across multiple dimensions (product, market, channel)
- Previous experience (at least 3-4 years) in a similar role for a fashion brand
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and dynamic workflows
- Proficiency in PLM systems, Excel, PPT
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage fast-paced and dynamic workflows
- Familiarity with the fashion market and understanding of product lifecycle management processes is highly desirable
