We are working on a hybrid schedule, 3 days in the office, 2 at home.

As a Product Marketing Managerat Cognex, you will bridge the gap between ourindustry-leadingmachine vision technology and the B2B buyers evaluating our solutions. You will define product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies while supporting the creation of high-impact content that clearly communicatesour products’value to prospective customers. This role blends technical understanding, strategic marketing, and theability to translate technical concepts into impactfulproduct marketing for industrial B2B audiences.

This role will report to the Senior Manager of Content Marketing and will be a part of our Global Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

Product Positioning & Messaging

  • Develop and refine compelling product messaging that resonates with B2B buyers at all stages of the decision journey.

  • Translate complex technical functionality into clear, customer-focused value propositions.

  • Support product launches with go-to-market strategies, messaging frameworks, and positioning tools.

Market & Competitive Insights

  • Gather market intelligence, analyze trends, and track competitor offerings to inform positioning and strategic initiatives.

  • Provideactionable insightstoSales, Product Management, and Marketing teams to drive competitiveadvantage

Content Enablement (Strategic & Hands-On)

  • Own thecreation of technical sales enablement assets (datasheets, solution briefs, case studies, presentations, videos)

  • Ensure technical accuracy and clarity in content that supports decision-making and accelerates the sales cycle.

Sales Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managementand Salesto align messaging and go-to-market strategies.

  • Educateinternalteams on product value, positioning, and differentiation in a way that is practical and actionable.

Performance & Optimization

  • Trackadoptionand effectiveness of product marketing materials and campaigns.

  • Use data-driven insights to refine messaging, positioning, andfuturego-to-market strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or related technical discipline.

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably within B2B technology or industrial automation.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and project management skills.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a strategic product marketer who can shape clear, customer-facing narratives, understands how industrial or technical products are evaluated andpurchased, and positions complex technology in a way that is credible, compelling, and easy to understand.

You are someone who:

  • Thinks in terms of positioning, differentiation, and go-to-market strategynot just deliverables

  • Enjoysdigging into details, asking the right questions, and translating complexity into customer value

  • Hasexperience partnering closely with Product Management to influence messaging, launches, and roadmap communication.

  • Balances big-picture strategy with hands-on execution, especially in fast-moving or resource-constrained environments.

  • Iscollaborative, pragmatic, and comfortable influencing without formalauthority.

Experience in industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, or adjacent B2B technology markets is a strong plus, but notrequiredfor someone who can quickly learnnewtechnical domains.

Cognex believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 177,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a sales incentive plan.
