Our platform stands apart as the only solution that combines advanced AI, real-time project financials, and firm-wide insights to elevate resource management to a strategic function. Why our customers love Dayshape:

  • We help professional firms optimise margins and increase revenue, unlocking access to more profitable work.
  • We provide complete operational visibility today and the tools to confidently predict tomorrow.
  • We empower firms to become the places where top talent wants to work - and the best clients want to work with.

Recognised as Scotland’s fastest-growing tech company in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for three consecutive years and more recently as the Enterprise Digital Tech Business of the Year at the 2024 ScotlandIS awards, we’ve consistently proven our ability to innovate and deliver real impact — and we’re always looking for like-minded people to join us.

At Dayshape, our purpose is to improve people's working lives, and our culture is an important driving force in helping us to do just that. We're a friendly, inclusive, and ambitious team — driven by our values and a shared commitment to success. If you’re ready to join a fast-growing, high-impact company that’s reimagining resource management, then let’s talk.

About the role

Dayshape is making a significant investment in a new strategic product area, creating an opportunity for a Product Manager to help define the future of how professional services firms manage complex, high-volume work.

Across Tax and other compliance-driven service lines, firms coordinate thousands of pieces of work moving through interconnected processes, teams and deadlines. Priorities shift constantly, information is fragmented across systems, and leaders often lack the visibility needed to make confident operational decisions.

We're exploring how resource management can evolve beyond traditional scheduling to become a critical part of how firms deliver work at scale. Our ambition is to help organisations better connect their people, capacity and operational reality, enabling smarter decisions, improved delivery confidence and better outcomes for both clients and employees.

Tax is our first major focus area and represents one of the most exciting opportunities in the professional services technology market today. Success here has the potential to unlock a much broader vision that extends across multiple service lines, firms and industries.

This is an individual contributor Product Manager role reporting to a Group Product Manager. You'll work as part of a cross-functional product team alongside Engineering and Design, while partnering closely with Customer Success, Professional Services, Sales and Marketing.

You'll spend significant time working directly with customers, industry specialists and internal experts to understand how work really gets done. You'll take complex operational challenges and translate them into clear product strategy, actionable roadmaps and measurable customer outcomes. Along the way, you'll help define both the product and the market opportunity in an area where established best practices are still emerging.

Requirements

What you’ll do

Strategic ownership

  • Define and evolve the product vision and roadmap for Dayshape’s Tax and high-volume product area.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how high-volume work is planned, allocated, progressed and delivered.
  • Identify the highest-value opportunities across workflow integration, capacity planning, demand management and user experience.
  • Shape an approach that solves Tax-specific challenges while creating reusable value for other high-volume service lines.
  • Balance customer value, market opportunity, business priorities, technical constraints and long-term platform strategy.

Product discovery and customer engagement

  • Lead discovery with practitioners, engagement managers, resource managers, operational leaders and technology stakeholders.
  • Run workshops, interviews, research sessions, prototype reviews and usability testing.
  • Understand how operating models vary across firms and design for flexibility rather than assuming one standard Tax process.
  • Build a strong understanding of the enterprise technology landscape and where workflow, workforce and financial data intersect.
  • Work with customer-facing teams to identify recurring needs, pilot opportunities and market signals.

Product delivery leadership

  • Partner with Engineering and Design to turn complex customer problems into valuable, usable and feasible product initiatives.
  • Define and prioritise roadmap items, keeping the team focused on outcomes rather than output.
  • Guide initiatives from discovery through validation, delivery, launch and iteration.
  • Shape coherent experiences across portfolio oversight, work status and flow, scheduling and capacity.
  • Collaborate on integrations with third-party workflow systems while maintaining clear system boundaries and customer expectations.
  • Enable successful launches and pilots across Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Support and Professional Services.

Outcome and quality focus

  • Define success measures and evaluate whether new capabilities improve customer and business outcomes.
  • Use research, product telemetry, customer feedback and commercial evidence to refine priorities.
  • Communicate roadmap direction, trade-offs, dependencies and uncertainty clearly.
  • Build effective feedback loops with pilot customers and partners.
  • Recognise when a customer-specific need represents a scalable product opportunity.

AI and modern product development

  • Explore how AI and intelligent automation can support allocation, workload balancing, exception handling and decision support.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully in discovery, analysis, communication and day-to-day product work.
  • Help shape future experiences that may coordinate human and AI-supported work, while keeping near-term product outcomes grounded in validated customer needs.

About you

You’re passionate about solving complex operational problems and building enterprise software that improves people’s working lives. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

Have strong product management foundations

  • Have experience leading product discovery and delivery in a B2B or enterprise software environment.
  • Can demonstrate ownership of a product area or significant initiative from problem identification to measurable outcomes.
  • Are comfortable creating direction in an emerging and ambiguous problem space.
  • Can balance user value, commercial opportunity, technical feasibility and business priorities.
  • Have experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams.

Are customer and market obsessed

  • Enjoy spending time with customers and domain experts to understand how work happens in practice.
  • Have experience leading interviews, workshops, research and product validation.
  • Can identify patterns across different organisations and translate them into coherent product direction.
  • Are comfortable challenging assumptions and validating ideas with evidence.
  • Can build trust with senior customers while being transparent about product maturity and roadmap uncertainty.

Think in systems and workflows

  • Enjoy untangling operational processes that span people, systems, data and decisions.
  • Think in workflows, personas, operating models and outcomes rather than isolated features.
  • Can find the right level of abstraction, avoiding both unnecessary detail and oversimplification.
  • Can break a complex problem into testable and deliverable stages.

Are technically fluent

  • Can engage confidently in conversations about APIs, integrations, data models, system boundaries and technical trade-offs.
  • Don’t need to be an engineer, but can ask thoughtful questions and work effectively with highly technical teams.
  • Have experience partnering with Engineers, Technical Leads and Product Designers to deliver complex products.
  • Are comfortable working with third-party technology providers and ecosystem dependencies.

Excel at communication and influence

  • Build trust with practitioners, operational specialists, technical stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Can translate complex domain and technical concepts into a clear product narrative.
  • Influence without authority, drive alignment and navigate competing priorities.
  • Are comfortable representing the product with customers, prospects, partners and industry audiences.

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience working in, or building products for, accounting or professional services firms.
  • Experience with Tax compliance operations, Tax workflow, resource management, workforce planning or capacity planning.
  • Experience with workflow platforms, ERP products, systems of record or enterprise integrations.
  • Experience designing products for high-volume, deadline-driven or multi-stage operational work.
  • Experience taking an emerging proposition from discovery through pilot and launch.
  • Hands-on exposure to AI-powered features in a live product.

Benefits

What you’ll get

  • Salary c. £58,000 - £70,000, dependent on experience
  • At least £1,000 per year to spend on professional and personal development
  • 33 days' holiday per year (including bank holidays), increasing by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days
  • Paid four-week sabbatical in your fifth anniversary year on top of your holiday entitlement
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Private health insurance, including dental and vision benefits
  • Income protection and death in service cover
  • Matched 5% auto-enrolment workplace pension scheme
  • Access to wellbeing offerings, such as our Employee Assistance Programme and a dedicated counselling service
  • Volunteering time – up to 20 hours a year to participate in volunteer work
  • Regular All Hands meeting for inspiration and over-communication
  • Time out of the working week for team socials each month, with a mix of in-person and virtual options: past events include hiking, family BBQs, board games and at-home cocktail classes!
  • Genuinely nice, smart people to work with, who are excited about growing our company

Working Details

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know.

We’re ideally looking for someone in/around Edinburgh, though we’re open to the possibility of this being a remote role (as long as you're in the UK). We're making the most of hybrid working, so you won't need to come into the office everyday (unless you want to!).

We don't mandate required office time, but we find that most of the team enjoy working from home 2-3 days a week, and come into our office to connect with each other, make use of space, and for meetings.

Join the team!

Equality of opportunity is more than just a responsibility: we believe it’s a huge advantage to welcome a variety of experiences and perspectives into the team. Diversity is a great asset and, as such, we strongly encourage applications from any background.

This is your opportunity to really influence how we get things done, and how our product performs. We're doing well, but there's lots more to do in order to maintain the high bar and pace that we've set.

Everyone here is growing personally as the company grows, so if that sounds like something you’d like to be part of, we’d love to see your application. The deadline for applications is 27 September 2026, 5:00 PM GMT.

Please note the successful candidate for this role will be subject to background checks and will have an opportunity to declare anything to us beforehand.
