Product Manager Specific Solutions

Your Tasks

  • Proactive Customer Interaction: Systematically track customers’ upgrade cycles and facility roadmaps to engage in technical design dialogues pre-tender, influencing specifications early, and harvesting the full potential of our markets
  • Strategic Portfolio Balancing: Strategically qualify Specific Solutions projects when standard options are unviable or selectively to demonstrate DECTRIS' cutting-edge custom capabilities
  • Strategic Evaluation: Evaluate whether a customer request should be handled as a customized detector or if it signals the need for a new standard product
  • Requirements Engineering: Coordinate with customers and Area Sales Managers to determine detector requirements, setup details, and application backgrounds
  • Technical Feasibility: Collaborate with technical experts to estimate feasibility, risks, effort, time, and costs for novel designs
  • Proposal Management: Provide Sales with technical concepts, price estimations, and lead times to create winning offers
  • Project Oversight: Maintain a clear overview of ongoing projects and keep all internal and external stakeholders informed
  • Balancing Interests: Find pragmatic solutions that match the customer's timeline and budget while protecting DECTRIS' interests and technical standards
  • Visibility and Outreach: Represent Specific Solutions at conferences, user meetings, and facility visits; turn completed custom builds into reference cases and application stories that seed the next generation of requests

Your Skills

  • Science/engineering degree or similar, previous experience in product management or project management is an asset
  • Strong understanding of X-ray technology, vacuum systems, and related equipment. You can quickly grasp the capabilities and boundaries of our standard products
  • Excellent skills in interacting with various stakeholders, from scientists in international research facilities to internal cross-functional teams
  • Ability to identify and reduce technical risks and suggest pragmatic solutions
  • Understanding of how market trends and customers’ needs can be leveraged to enhance business outcomes
  • You understand where the X-ray markets, its applications, and customer needs are heading, and you can translate that into which custom requests are worth pursuing
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple customer requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • You are precise in creating and updating project and product documentation
  • Average travel requirement around 15%
