Job Description

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Product Manager in our Software Portfolio Organization and have ownership of a defined area within the ELERA Commerce Suite, our flagship software offering. You will be reporting to a Sr Manager | ELERA Portfolio Owner and work closely with other Product Managers to bring our ELERA solutions to several of the Top 10 Largest Global Retailers and to the greater retail market beyond.

You will own the business justifications and market positioning for one-to-many offerings within the ELERA Portfolio — capabilities designed once and delivered to many retailers. That translates to finding the patterns across what individual customers ask for, deciding which needs are common enough to belong in our product, and making the case for the investment behind them.

You will own the WHAT and the WHY behind our product strategy. The WHAT is the product itself: the capabilities that belong in ELERA, the roadmap that carries them forward, and the priorities that decide what gets built first. The WHY is the reasoning that earns them — the customer problem being solved, the market opportunity, the competitive position, and the value created for retailers and for Toshiba. You will carry both to customers, sales, and to our executive team, and you will be the person who can articulate and defend the position and negotiate where necessary.

You will also bring that thinking to life and to tangible deliverables. Every product direction you set is expressed in two things, authored by you, and accelerated through AI: 1) a clearly written business requirements document, and 2) a working clickable prototype to demonstrate your direction to our engineering team and to your stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Engage retailers, sales, partners, and market research directly to understand the business problems behind what customers ask for — and frame those problems rather than simply receive them.
• Generalize across customers. Identify the patterns that make a capability worth building once and delivering to many and distinguish those from work that is specific to a single retailer.
• Own the business justification for your offerings — opportunity, value, competitive position, and sizing — and present and defend it through portfolio prioritization.
• Define market positioning and value propositions for your offerings, and partner with marketing, sales, and services to carry them to market.
• Own and maintain the roadmap and backlog for your offerings, including the prioritization decisions and the tradeoffs behind them.
• Author the Business Requirements Document for each product direction you set, covering the WHAT and the WHY, customer and market insights and transcripts, relevant background, assumptions and exclusions, user story breakdown, and acceptance criteria.
• Create a working clickable prototype for each product direction, directing AI design and development tooling against our codebase so that engineering and stakeholders can see your intent rather than infer it from a document.
• Partner with engineering through the build, clarifying intent as questions arise and confirming that what gets delivered reflects the business case you made.
• Lead user acceptance testing and final business acceptance as the engineering cycle closes, validating that the delivered capability meets its requirements and is ready for release to market.
• Continuously sharpen how we work. The AI methods that take us from insight to prototype are evolving quickly, and we expect our Product Managers to help push that forward.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or equivalent combination.
• Demonstrated ownership of a product, product area, or major business problem, with accountability for business outcomes rather than for defining or delivering a feature list
• A track record of defining product direction from customer and market evidence, including examples where you decided what not to build
• Substantial written work product — requirements, business cases, or product strategy documents you personally authored
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers and with senior internal stakeholders, including the ability to hold a position under pressure and negotiate to a decision
• Hands-on use of AI tooling to produce real work products, with specific examples of what you made and how. Articulate specific examples of product requirements and UX prototyping through the use of AI.
• Evidence that you teach yourself new capability on your own initiative. This matters more to us than any particular tool on your resume because the tooling will change again.
• 8+ years in product management and demonstrated product ownership and accountability

Preferred

• Point-of-sale, retail technology, or enterprise commerce domain experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and clear articulation of governance and quality standards around its use
• Experience creating or directing clickable prototypes as part of a product definition process
• Experience operating within a defined portfolio governance model — prioritization rubrics, capacity tradeoffs, and formal change control
• Experience managing a portfolio of offerings where prioritization and resource allocation must be defended
