Job Description

Position: Product Manager – Power Tools

Location: San Jose, CA

Reports To: Director of Product

The Power Tool Product Manager will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for Mountz’ power tool product line. This individual will bridge engineering, operations, and market needs—leading product development, integration, and lifecycle management. The role is suited for a technically skilled professional with strong manufacturing knowledge who is eager to transition into or expand their expertise in product management. This position reports directly to the Director of Product.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the strategic direction of the power tool business segment, aligning with company goals.
  • Factory Integration Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of MES systems, workflow management, work cell controls, and process documentation to ensure seamless product integration on the factory floor.
  • Technical Translation: Act as the voice of the customer and “speak engineer”—translating fastening application requirements into clear product specifications.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, operations, compliance, and commercial teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Project & Lifecycle Management: Manage product launches, oversee hardware development milestones, and track performance through the product lifecycle.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure products meet regulatory, quality, and safety standards.
  • Customer Engagement: Support key customer integration projects and gather insights to drive product improvements.
  • Data & Analytics: Use analytics to guide decision-making, from roadmap prioritization to post-launch performance tracking.
  • Global Collaboration: Coordinate with international partners, suppliers, and stakeholders; support occasional overseas trips.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with direct exposure to device integration.
  • 3+ years of experience managing hardware projects (formal project management role not required).
  • Strong understanding of:
  • - PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric).
  • - Electromechanical systems including servo motors, motion profiles, and controls.
  • Experience with complex, multi-stakeholder project execution.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fastening and assembly processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and timelines.
  • Preferred: Professional proficiency in Korean.

Additional Details

Travel: 15–20% (domestic and international).

Salary

$145K-$160K/year.
