Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager, LMS (Contract Position) based in the Canada.
This is a high-impact product leadership opportunity focused on the evolution of a learning management ecosystem serving outdoor safety education.
You’ll own the roadmap for both an internal course-authoring platform and engaging, consumer-facing interactive learning experiences.
Working closely with engineering, UX, design, and curriculum teams, you’ll turn complex needs into focused product strategies and actionable requirements.
A key part of the role will be identifying practical opportunities to use AI for content creation, course development, and personalized learning.
You’ll balance product vision with rigorous scope, resource, and delivery management against externally driven launch deadlines.
The role offers significant ownership, cross-functional influence, and the opportunity to shape products used by learners across outdoor recreation communities.
This is a fully remote, one-year contract engagement with no state or provincial residency requirement.
Accountabilities:
- Own and continuously evolve the roadmaps for both the internal course-authoring platform and consumer-facing interactive learning products, taking initiatives from opportunity identification through launch and iteration.
- Partner with content and curriculum teams to understand authoring workflows, identify pain points, and translate needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product design, UX, and creative teams to deliver engaging, interactive, and game-like learning experiences that improve learner engagement and completion.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to incorporate AI into product workflows, including AI-assisted content and course generation and personalized or adaptive learning experiences.
- Define meaningful KPIs and success metrics, monitor product analytics, run experiments where appropriate, and use data to inform roadmap and prioritization decisions.
- Manage scope, sequencing, dependencies, resources, and delivery plans to meet externally established course-launch deadlines.
- Work with the Product Designer and Lead Engineer to develop story maps, manage delivery through project-management tools, and provide clear weekly project updates and release communications.
- Build strong relationships across engineering, design, curriculum, and other stakeholders, influencing outcomes through clarity, organization, communication, and consistent follow-through.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional product management experience, ideally covering both internal/platform products and consumer-facing digital experiences.
- Demonstrated experience owning product strategy and a roadmap end-to-end, from identifying opportunities and defining requirements through launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Strong project and delivery management skills, including the ability to sequence work, manage scope and resources, coordinate dependencies, and deliver against fixed deadlines.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, content management systems, and/or course-authoring platforms such as Articulate 360.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with experience defining KPIs, evaluating product analytics, conducting experiments, and using data to guide product decisions.
- An AI-forward mindset, with genuine curiosity about applying AI to content creation and learning personalization and sound judgment about where AI can create meaningful value.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and design teams without relying on formal authority, building alignment through influence and collaboration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business, technical, and user needs into concise requirements and stakeholder updates.
- Strong product ownership, prioritization, problem-solving, and organizational skills across multiple product surfaces.
- Bonus experience includes content strategy, instructional design, educational content development, product or game design, gamified learning, Articulate 360 or Captivate, edtech, SaaS, or consumer-facing digital products.
- A background in or genuine interest in outdoor recreation such as hunting, fishing, boating, or snowmobiling is a plus.
Benefits:
- Contract engagement: One-year, full-time or near full-time contract position; not a permanent role.
- Remote flexibility: Fully remote work with no state or provincial residency requirement.
- Product ownership: Significant autonomy and responsibility for shaping two interconnected learning product experiences.
- Cross-functional exposure: Direct collaboration with engineering, design, UX, curriculum, and content professionals.
- AI innovation: Opportunity to explore and implement AI-driven approaches to content creation and personalized learning.
- Impact: Help improve digital education experiences that support outdoor safety and responsible recreation.
- Flexible engagement: Designed as a remote contract opportunity with flexibility around location within the United States or Canada.
