Job Description

Hi, we’re Back Market.

We’re here to help make tech reliable, affordable, and better than new We're a global marketplace for refurbished devices, helping lower our collective environmental impact by providing trustworthy, affordable tech with 92% less carbon emissions than new.

Yep, you read that right. Turns out refurbished tech is way better for the planet than new. In fact, With every device purchased on Back Market, our positive impact on the planet grows. From our Customer Care representatives to our software engineer, every individual at Back Market cuts the planet — and consumers — a break. Our mission is simple: to do more with what we already have.

Are you ready to join us?

Back Market is on a mission to make refurbished tech the new norm. To achieve this, data and technology are at the very core of everything we do. The Data Analytics & Insights team enables all Back Makers to turn data into action — building the platforms, tools, and capabilities that power smarter, faster decisions across the entire company.

In 2026, we are rolling out our Analytics Platform 2.0 — one of the most strategic data initiatives of the year. This major transformation touches every team at Back Market and requires rigorous coordination, sharp communication, and hands-on execution.

As our Product Manager Data & AI Intern, you will work directly alongside the PM to drive this transition to success.
This is a high-visibility internship, right at the heart of our data transformation — ideal for someone who wants to understand what it takes to deliver a company-wide platform change.

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT):

  • Support the PM in coordinating the Analytics Platform 2.0 transition plan: maintain the roadmap, track milestones, align stakeholders across teams, and help keep the transition on track

  • Design and build training materials to help Back Makers adopt the new platform: create onboarding guides, tutorials and self-service documentation adapted to different user profiles (analysts, business users, platform contributors...)

  • Monitor adoption and quality of the transition: track key indicators, build dashboards to visualise progress, and proactively flag risks or blockers

  • Be a go-to contact for teams navigating the migration: collect feedback, consolidate questions, and channel priorities back to the team

  • Contribute to platform governance and documentation to ensure a smooth and sustainable transition

Examples of projects you could work on:

  • Build a comprehensive onboarding program for new Analytics Platform users, including AI-powered support agents for self-service

  • Design and maintain a live adoption dashboard tracking usage metrics, training completion rates, and migration status per squad

  • Coordinate go-live milestones with stakeholders and help manage the dual-running period to minimize disruptions

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF:

  • You are enrolled in a Master's degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent, ideally with a focus on Product, Data, or Digital

  • You have strong project management skills: you know how to structure a plan, define milestones, manage multiple stakeholders, and follow through to delivery

  • You have excellent communication skills and can make complex topics accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • You are proactive, rigorous, and organized — you identify what needs to be done and you do it without waiting to be asked

  • You are curious about data tools and technologies

  • You like to do concrete things and you are not afraid to get your hands dirty

  • You are an amazing team player with whom it's always a pleasure to work

  • English is a no-brainer (fully professional capability). French is a plus!

  • You are looking for a 6-month full-time internship starting in July based in Bordeaux

  • Your current university can provide an internship agreement

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US ? ✌🏼

At Back Market, we’re committed to hiring and supporting diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives — it’s one of the reasons we’re such a high-scoring certified B Corp company (93.2).

No matter your role and seniority level, you’ll enjoy impact-driven work with hands-on career development in an innovative, driven, and fast-paced environment — with benefits to match, like:

- A mission driven work environment where your day to day makes an impact on the planet. Seriously.

- Hybrid work environment, with 2 remote days a week and 1 remote work week per quarter, plus 3 flex days.

- Employee Resource Groups, including mentorship programs, comprehensive accessibility policies, and cultural competency training.

At Back Market, we strive to create a workplace that embodies the world we’re trying to change. We’ve embedded our diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into our DNA — from dedicated staff to employee resource groups to our company values.

We know that the perfect background for a role doesn’t mean the perfect fit — we encourage you to apply for a role even if you think you may not have all the qualifications.

If reasonable accommodations are needed for the interview process, please do not hesitate to discuss this with the Talent Acquisition Team.

About Back Market

Founded in 2014 by Thibaud Hug de Larauze, Quentin Le Brouster, and Vianney Vaute, Back Market is a global marketplace for premium refurbished electronics. We’re here to help make refurbished tech trustworthy, reliable, and affordable.

As a certified B-Corp, Back Market’s mission is to do more with what we already have. Because, well, what we already have is pretty great. That’s why all the tech you find on Back Market is better than new — because not only is it in perfect working condition, independent scientific research shows that refurbished electronics have a significantly smaller footprint on the environment than brand new. Every time someone chooses refurbished tech, we avoid additional environmental impact on the planet.

Of course, it’s not just about the tech sold by sellers on our marketplace, it’s also about how we run our business — we hold ourselves to high standards when it comes to our own sustainability practices, too. We work across the refurbishment industry to develop new technologies, support environmental initiatives related to electronic waste (e-waste), and work with local governments across the globe to pass legislation that supports sustainability and the Right to Repair in the tech industry.

We know we’re not alone in our vision for a world where tech respects the planet. With 884M€ raised to date and over 10 million customers around the world, we’re well on our way to the joyful revolution of Tech Reborn.
