We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Manager, Product – Inflight Experience to set the strategic direction for our inflight customer experience and lead the evolution of our cabin interiors, hard product, inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC).

Reporting to the Head of Product Development and Delivery, this is an influential leadership role with the opportunity to shape how our guests experience Virgin Australia in the air and into the future.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll own the end-to-end inflight experience portfolio, translating our customer and enterprise strategy into a clear, commercially sustainable product roadmap.

Working across Engineering, Fleet, Procurement, Operations and a broad network of internal and external partners, you’ll lead the development and delivery of products that balance customer expectations with commercial, technical and operational requirements.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Setting the strategic direction for Virgin Australia’s inflight experience across cabin interiors, hard product and IFEC.
  • Leading the development of customer-led product concepts that improve comfort, usability, consistency and brand perception.
  • Partnering closely with Engineering and Fleet to shape and evolve cabin products across current and future aircraft.
  • Providing strategic oversight of product integration across new aircraft and retrofit programs.
  • Developing compelling business cases and recommendations to support investment and portfolio decisions.
  • Leading products through their full lifecycle, from concept and development through to implementation, review and continuous optimisation.
  • Using customer insight, market trends, frontline feedback and operational data to identify opportunities to improve the guest experience.
  • Influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across customer, commercial, operational and technical priorities.
  • Leading supplier strategy, commercial negotiations and strategic partnerships alongside Procurement.
  • Managing portfolio performance, budgets, supplier spend and product investment to deliver strong customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Leading, coaching and developing your team while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion and innovation.

You’ll be great in this role if you have

You’re an experienced product or customer experience leader who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and delivery level. You can take a complex customer problem, create a compelling product vision and bring diverse stakeholders together to make it happen.

  • Significant experience leading product, customer experience or technical portfolios within a complex, customer-focused organisation.
  • Demonstrated success developing product strategy and delivering commercial, customer and operational outcomes.
  • Strong strategic and commercial thinking, with the ability to turn customer, financial, technical and operational insights into clear decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and navigating competing priorities in complex environments.
  • Experience managing strategic suppliers, commercial negotiations and significant product investment.
  • Strong capability in business cases, portfolio prioritisation, governance and product roadmaps.
  • A degree in Product Management, Business, Design or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Experience within aviation, airline product, cabin interiors, IFEC, engineering, transport or another regulated industry will be highly regarded, particularly if you’ve worked across major product transformation, fleet integration or capital investment programs.
