Job Description

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your impact

The Axon App is the officer’s in-pocket workspace — capture, evidence, device, and in-field work in one product so agencies are not asked to install another app. As a Product Manager II on Axon Mobile, you will own an officer-facing product area on that app — a real customer problem, a cross-functional squad, and a metric — not a single feature inside someone else’s roadmap.

We are looking for a strong product manager who can take an ambiguous workflow, turn it into a sequenced plan, and ship with engineering, design, and counterpart PMs across time zones. You’ll spend time with officers and agencies, prioritize with data, and get that product area working in the field. You will not be hired to sit on someone else’s backlog.

What you’ll do

Work Location: This role is based out of our Ho Chi Minh City office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.
Reports to: JK Thng, Senior Director of Product Management
Direct reports: None

  • Own a product area on Axon App end to end: problem, roadmap, sprint-level plan, and the metric that proves it is working.
  • Build and manage the roadmap and backlog, with justification for trade-offs, and earn buy-in from counterpart PMs across Axon products.
  • Work with engineering to balance scope, functionality, performance, and time-to-market.
  • Work with counterpart PMs, design, and sales to bring the right product to life with the right feature set.
  • Provide regular two-way communication with senior management and internal customers on status, risks, mitigation, and change control.
  • Spend time with customers (in the field and remotely) to inform the roadmap and make sure what we build will work for them.
  • Gather quantitative and qualitative data from the market and from end users. Make data-driven decisions when possible; use well-supported intuition when data is not available.
  • Work with account management, sales, and other customer-facing teams to collect feedback and drive resolution.
  • Support go-to-market when the product area needs it — messaging, sales enablement, and customer communication.
  • Release, monitor success through metrics and customer feedback, and iterate. Deliver results against a small set of performance metrics.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years relevant software product management, ideally shipping multi-system products while working directly with end users.
  • Evidence you have owned a product area or major workflow — not only tickets inside someone else’s roadmap.
  • Direct experience working with engineers to balance scope, time-to-market, and functionality, making trade-offs with qualitative, quantitative, and absent data.
  • Success influencing engineering and design, and partnering across functions, in a growth environment.
  • Excellent problem solving; well-structured written and verbal communication.
  • A track record of shipping products that move a metric, not only a release date.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when necessary (10%).
  • Leadership presence and the ability to question the status quo.

Preferred: mobile products used in the field; regulated or public-safety domains; experience standing up or expanding a product area rather than only inheriting a mature backlog.

Benefits that benefit you

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Robust Paid Time Off policy
  • Bonuses
  • Lunch allowance
  • Cell phone stipend
  • Free LinkedIn Learning account or Udemy account
  • Access to 24/7 online emotional and mental support
  • Gym membership
  • Free parking
  • Stocked fridges and pantries — free coffee, cold beverages, snacks
  • Annual company outing trip
  • Monthly team social activities

About Axon

Our story began in September of 1993 when TASER International was founded by CEO Rick Smith with his brother Tom Smith. They consulted with Jack Cover, former NASA scientist and inventor of the original TASER® conducted energy weapons of the 1970s. Rick Smith was inspired to found the company after losing two high school football teammates who were shot and killed in a road rage incident. This experience led him to seek new technologies that would enable people to protect themselves without deploying lethal force in hopes of creating a bullet-less world.

Today, Axon represents the entire network of devices, applications and people that is revolutionizing public safety around the world. Our mission is to protect life. We’re building the world’s largest and most trusted suite of public safety solutions. If you are seeking a career with purpose, we invite you to join us.

This is Our Moonshot

Gun-related deaths between police and the public have risen steadily for at least the past six years. In 2021 in the U.S., 1,118 people — 1,054 civilians and 64 officers — lost their lives in gun-related incidents between police and the public, according to leading data sources. In response, Axon is rallying partners around a “moonshot” goal to cut gun-related deaths between police and the public by 50% by 2033.
