Job Description

About the role and team

Product at Uber means making big decisions without perfect information—and owning the outcomes. As a Product Manager II, you will turn complexity into clarity at speed, navigate competing priorities, and lead through influence, not control. This role is about solving what is hard to shape the future of movement.

You will navigate the messy reality of marketplace mechanics where the path forward is rarely predefined. We need leaders who move with urgency and stay resilient when faced with high-stakes ambiguity. If you think critically and want to solve real-world problems under real-world constraints, this is where you will grow.

Rate of Pay: $167,875 to $207,375 per year

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at the following link https://www.uber.com/careers/benefits.

What you’ll do

  • Define and execute the Rider ML product roadmap and strategy, focusing on personalization and discovery experiences that enhance the rider journey.
  • Collaborate with machine learning engineers, data scientists, designers, and operations to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and deliver ML-powered features that feel intuitive and assistive.
  • Develop scalable systems that help riders easily book trips when they have an immediate need, while also surfacing personalized recommendations for future planning or unmet needs.
  • Partner with other product teams to ensure ML frameworks and capabilities are leveraged to create cohesive, delightful user experiences.
  • May telecommute.

Basic Qualifications

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related fields and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Position requires:
    • Defining product requirements through detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) or user stories, for consumer-facing mobile or web products;
    • Analyzing product performance and user data using analytical and data visualization tools including SQL, Excel and Tableau;
    • Conducting A/B testing or product experimentation, including hypothesis definition, experiment setup, and result analysis;
    • Understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts, including personalization, recommendation systems, or predictive modeling in consumer applications;
    • Collaborating directly with engineers, data scientists, or designers to translate user needs into clear and actionable product specifications;
    • Managing product development processes using project or task management tools including JIRA, Confluence, or LucidChart;
    • Leveraging user research and customer insights to inform product decisions;
    • Defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for product performance.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
