About the Role:
As a Product Manager I, Commercial, you help shape and deliver commercial financial technology products that solve real customer problems. You partner with cross‑functional teams to translate market and customer insights into clear product requirements and measurable outcomes. Your success is defined by learning quickly, delivering value iteratively, and supporting products that meet customer needs and business goals.
Please note: this is a full-time position with a required hybrid schedule in the posted location.
What You Will Be Doing:- Serve as a subject matter expert for retail payment acquiring solutions, including merchant payment acceptance and POS ecosystems
- Lead and participate in product discovery, requirements gathering, and solution design discussions with external clients, internal stakeholders, and payment ecosystem partners including issuers, acquirers, merchants, payment service providers, and network brands
- Contribute to the development and execution of the product roadmap for retail payment and acquiring solutions
- Support the evaluation, onboarding, and management of acquiring and payment technology partners
- Collaborate with technology teams and external vendors on POS terminal integrations, payment device certifications, and API-based payment solutions
- Analyze merchant and retailer business requirements and translate them into product and operational capabilities
- Support initiatives related to card-present payments, merchant acquiring, payment acceptance, and transaction processing
- Monitor and analyze payment performance metrics, transaction trends, and operational issues to support continuous product improvement
- Participate in testing, implementation, and deployment activities for payment and acquiring solutions
- Assist with managing payment network compliance requirements, including standards related to INTERAC, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, EMV, and PCI
- Support issue resolution and operational troubleshooting related to payment devices, acquiring platforms, and transaction processing
- Work cross-functionally with operations, technology, risk, compliance, and vendor partners to deliver retail payment initiatives
Required / Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of retail payment and merchant acquiring solutions, including card-present payment ecosystems
- Exposure to POS terminals, payment devices, and network brands including INTERAC, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express
- Experience working with acquiring partners, payment processors, gateways, or merchant service providers is considered an asset
- Familiarity with payment transaction flows including authorization, clearing, settlement, and chargebacks
- Experience gathering business and technical requirements for payment or fintech solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational and transactional data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL for data analysis and reporting
- Exposure to APIs, technical integrations, and payment connectivity frameworks
- Understanding of payment industry standards and compliance requirements such as EMV and PCI DSS is considered an asset
- Experience supporting merchant onboarding, terminal deployment, or payment solution implementations is considered an asset
- Familiarity with terminal estate management and payment device lifecycle processes
- Exposure to omnichannel payment solutions including in-store, e-commerce, and mobile payment acceptance
- Experience working with payment processors or platforms such as Fiserv, Moneris, Global Payments, Elavon, Clover, TSYS, or similar providers
- Understanding of merchant pricing models, interchange, and acquiring economics
- Experience supporting retail payment modernization or digital transformation initiatives
