Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Product & Design, the Product Manager I plays a key role in driving the successful execution of product initiatives by gathering, analyzing, and documenting detailed business requirements for projects outlined in the product roadmap. This role serves as a critical liaison between cross-functional teams, ensuring that requirements are clearly communicated and understood by UX/UI designers, software developers, and quality assurance teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Requirement Documentation

Collaborates with business stakeholders to collect and create detailed requirement documents for approved initiatives.

2. Requirement Grooming Support

Participates in and supports grooming efforts by offering background information and providing context to facilitate the successful design, development and testing of prioritized features.

3. Post-Release Feedback

Engages in evaluating product performance after launch and gathers suggestions for improvement based on input from users and stakeholders

4. Release Readiness

Assists in final testing, validation of software solution and performs cross-functional readiness efforts to ensure teams are trained, informed and equipped to support new features prior to the product being approved for release.

5. Product Documentation

Creates and maintains key reference materials such as user manuals, FAQs, and release notes, while ensuring teams are well-prepared to adopt and support new capabilities.

6. Agile Participation

Takes part in core Agile ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Daily Standups to support iterative development processes.

7. Market Research

Conducts market research and competitive analysis to provide informed contributions to product strategy.

8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science or related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) year(s) of experience in product management, marketing, administration or related work required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with product documentation including User Guides, FAQ’s and Release Notes.
  • Basic knowledge of fundementals to conduct market analysis.
  • Analytical thinking to assess user and stakeholder feedback to identify potential future enhancements.
  • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA and business teams.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to support user acceptance testing and interpret test results to determine product readiness.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Certification such as Pragmatic Institute, Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Methodologies, would be preferred.
  • No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
