The Opportunity:
The Epic Product Manager applies a product‑management mindset to the Epic platform, focusing on understanding business problems to solve and identifying scalable, Epic‑based solutions. This role shapes Epic strategy, standards, and adoption to support consistent, high‑performing operations across clients. The Epic Product Manager operates as a trusted, executive‑facing partner, working closely with Operations, Epic Services, Product, Innovation, Data, and Partnership Success to form clear, solution‑oriented recommendations that inform Epic feature & functionality design, upgrades, Standard Operating Models (SOMs), and playbooks. This is an internal, individual contributor role that reports directly to the VP, Epic Services.
Key Responsibilities
Epic Product Expertise & Strategy
• Serve as an expert in Epic functionality, current capabilities, and future roadmap.
• Set strategy for Epic upgrades, enhancements, and feature adoption.
• Evaluate Epic functionality for applicability and value.
Operational Partnership
• Spend significant time with Operations to understand workflows, challenges, and successes.
• Translate business needs into Epic standards and adoption strategies.
Problem Discovery & Solutioning
• Lead discovery to understand underlying problems before defining solutions.
• Apply creative problem‑solving and solution‑oriented thinking.
• Form clear, prescriptive recommendations with rationale and tradeoffs.
Requirements, Scoping & Standards
• Lead requirements and scoping across Ops, Epic, Innovation, Product, and Data initiatives.
• Inform Epic SOMs based on functionality and best practices.
• Own development and maintenance of Epic playbooks.
• Identify integration needs and opportunities, translating operational requirements into scalable Epic‑aligned integration approaches, including third-party systems.
Education & Partnership
• Educate and partner across Epic Services on Epic standards and functionality.
• Partner closely with Partnership Success to support consistent messaging to clients.
• Participate in Epic RevCyclers and lead workgroups as needed.
Qualifications Required
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of Epic experience in healthcare operations or an IT environment.
• Epic certification(s) in Patient Access, Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, or HIM.
• Deep Epic functional expertise.
• Strong executive‑ready communication skills.
• Creative, solution‑oriented problem‑solving mindset.
Preferred
• Experience in product management, solution design, or operational strategy.
This position pays between $92,400 - $138,600 based on experience
Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
