Position Summary:

Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking a strategic and customer-focused Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of digital products that power our transportation and logistics services. This role owns the full product lifecycle—from discovery through delivery and optimization—and is accountable for delivering measurable business and customer outcomes.

As part of a cross-functional product team, the Product Manager partners closely with engineering, design, and data to solve meaningful customer problems, validate solutions, and continuously improve product performance. This role requires strong product judgment, a bias for action, and the ability to operate at the intersection of customer needs, business strategy, and technology.

This position is based out of our corporate offices in Reading. PA. This an office first position, at least 4 days in office.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision

• Define and communicate a compelling product vision aligned to customer needs and Penske’s strategic objectives
• Develop and evolve a product strategy and roadmap grounded in outcomes, not just features or timelines
• Establish clear success metrics (KPIs/OKRs) and ensure alignment to business value and customer impact

Product Discovery & Customer Insight

• Lead ongoing product discovery efforts including customer interviews, field research, and data analysis
• Deeply understand customer workflows, pain points, and unmet needs within transportation and logistics
• Partner with UX and engineering to rapidly test, validate, and iterate on solutions before full-scale development
• Use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions and prioritization

Cross-Functional Product Leadership

• Operate as part of a product triad with engineering and design, ensuring shared ownership of outcomes
• Collaborate closely with data, operations, and business stakeholders to align on priorities and trade-offs
• Act as the voice of the customer while balancing technical feasibility and business impact
• Influence without authority across a matrixed organization, including Enterprise IT partners

Execution & Delivery

• Translate product strategy into well-defined problems, priorities, and outcomes for engineering teams
• Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on value, risk, and learning opportunities
• Guide teams through agile development cycles with a focus on delivering incremental value
• Ensure product releases are high quality, scalable, and aligned with architectural standards

Performance & Optimization

• Own product performance, including adoption, engagement, operational efficiency, and ROI
• Monitor product health through data and analytics, identifying opportunities for improvement
• Drive continuous iteration and optimization based on user feedback, experimentation, and performance insights
• Champion a culture of test-and-learn, continuous improvement, and accountability for results

Stakeholder Alignment & Communication

• Communicate product vision, strategy, and performance clearly to stakeholders and leadership
• Build strong alignment across Digital Products, Operations, and Enterprise IT teams
• Manage expectations, risks, and dependencies across complex, cross-functional initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required (MBA or equivalent experience preferred)
• 5+ years of product management experience in digital, SaaS, or platform-based environments, with end-to-end ownership from discovery through delivery and optimization
• Proven track record of delivering measurable business and customer outcomes (e.g., adoption, revenue impact, operational efficiency), not just feature delivery
• Strong experience in product discovery, including customer research, problem validation, and experimentation (e.g., MVPs, A/B testing)
• Demonstrated ability to define product strategy and translate ambiguous problems into clear priorities, trade-offs, and execution plans
• Experience working within a modern product operating model, including empowered teams and close partnership with engineering and design (product triad)
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with experience defining and tracking product metrics and KPIs
• Ability to engage effectively with engineering teams on technical concepts such as APIs, integrations, and data flows
• Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment, including collaboration with Enterprise IT
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect product decisions to customer and organizational impact
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to align stakeholders and present to senior leadership
• Experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with competing priorities and trade-offs
• Experience with transportation, logistics, fleet management, or IoT platforms is a plus
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
