Job Description

Company Description

At the forefront of health technology for over 35 years, Munich-based Brainlab digitizes medical workflows, from diagnosis to therapy, to offer clinicians and patients better treatment possibilities. Our innovative digital ecosystem forms the basis for modern healthcare technology in 4000 hospitals in 120 countries.

Our key to success is our creative, talented and hard-working team, which consists of around 2000 dedicated and inspiring individuals in 25 locations worldwide. To succeed in reaching our targets, we are seeking committed colleagues who can stand behind our core values curious, authentic and useful.

Job Description

Every day, neurosurgeons around the world rely on Brainlab Cranial Navigation to plan and perform some of the most demanding procedures in medicine. As Product Manager in our Cranial team, you own a core part of this portfolio and shape where it goes next.

You are the link between the operating room and our development teams. You spend time with surgeons, understand how our products are really used, and turn those insights into a clear roadmap that R&D can build and Sales can win with.

This is a role with real ownership: you make the prioritization calls, stand behind them, and see the results in hospitals worldwide.

What you'll do

  • Own the roadmap for the Cranial Navigation portfolio, prioritizing scope based on clinical need, technical feasibility and market impact, and working closely with R&D to deliver it.
  • Be the voice of the neurosurgeon: gather and synthesize feedback from surgeons, sales, service and market data, and spend at least one week per quarter in the field with customers and in the OR.
  • Define market requirements, including serviceability and producibility, and analyze competitors to sharpen our positioning.
  • Manage the commercial offering, including article structure, pricing and product information, and track global sales performance to spot opportunities.
  • Lead product launches and enable Sales, distributors and partners through training and clear roadmap communication.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and regional teams on programs and content that drive visibility and adoption.
  • Initiate and support clinical studies together with Clinical Affairs.
  • Act as a technical expert in customer visits, presentations and in-depth product demonstrations.

Qualifications

Must-haves

  • At least 3 years in product management or a comparable role in medical technology or healthcare.
  • A university degree in engineering, natural sciences, business or a related field.
  • Strong technical affinity with complex hardware–software systems.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, define specifications and balance clinical, technical and business requirements, and to stand behind those decisions.
  • Confidence working with surgeons and clinical staff, including in the OR.
  • A structured, clear communicator who turns complexity into a compelling vision and brings R&D, Sales and Clinical teams along.
  • Fluent English.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Munich, and willing to travel up to 20%.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with surgical navigation, imaging or other OR technology.
  • Background in neurosurgery or cranial applications.
  • German language skills. Our team speaks both German and English day to day, and switching to English is never a problem.
  • Experience with product launches or clinical studies in a regulated medical device environment.

Additional Information

  • A mutually-supportive, international team
  • Meaningful work with a lasting impact on medical technology
  • 30 vacation days, plus December 24th and December 31st
  • Flexible working hours as well as hybrid work model within Germany
  • Bike leasing via cooperation partner "BikeLeasing"
  • Parking garage and safe underground bike storage
  • Award-winning subsidized company restaurant and in-house cafes
  • Variety-rich fitness program in our ultra-modern 360m2 company gym
  • Regular after work, team, and company events
  • Comprehensive training and continuing education opportunities
