Job Description

Tesco Poland • Kraków • Hybrid • Full-Time • Working hours 40 • Apply by 01-Mar-2027

About the role

Every colleague at Tesco generates documents — a Right to Work report on day one, a fit note, a contract, a P45 when they leave.

CDMS (Colleague Document Management Solution) is the Global Component that journey teams plug into CDMS rather than building their own document handling, and CDMS owns capture, storage, retrieval, retention and reporting. Right to Work is live in stores through My Tesco today, with absence, recruitment and Central Europe following — around 1.5 million documents a year and nine business areas in the demand pipeline.

This is a genuinely end-to-end role and you will own it. You will set the longer-term platform strategy and run the day-to-day backlog with engineers in Kraków. You will shape the frontend experience managers and colleagues actually use, and you will onboard teams across the business onto it.

What is in it for you

Salary

UoP 18 000 - 24 000 PLN gross/month

Hybrid working

We know life looks a little different for each of us. That’s why at Tesco, we always welcome chats about different flexible working options. Some people are at the start of their careers, some want the freedom to do the things they love. Others are going through life-changing moments like becoming a carer, adapting to parenthood, or something else. So, talk to us throughout your application about how we can support.

This role requires you to be based in or near Kraków, as you will spend 60% (3 days) of your week collaborating with colleagues at our office locations or local sites and the rest remotely.

Our benefits

Tesco is a diverse and exciting employer, dedicated to being #aplacetogeton, providing career-defining opportunities to all of our colleagues. If you choose to join our business, we will provide you with:

  • Up to 20% yearly salary bonus – based on both individual and business performance
  • Permanent contract from the go – as a sign of our trust in your abilities
  • Tax-deductible expenses (IP)
  • Private healthcare (LuxMed)
  • Cafeteria & Multisport
  • Additional 4 days of paid leave to support your well-being and family life
  • Increase in annual leave (from 20 to 25 days) for those not yet eligible for the full holiday entitlement
  • Learning opportunities – certified technical training and a learning platform (Udemy)
  • Back-to-school day – 1 day off for parents of primary school children
  • Fertility leave – up to 2 weeks of paid leave for IVF treatment
  • Sports activities with a personal trainer in the office
  • Referral bonus
  • MacBook as your work tool

If that sounds exciting, then we'd love to hear from you.

You will be responsible for

  • Setting the longer-term strategy for CDMS as a platform — where it goes next, which business areas to onboard and in what order — and translating it into a roadmap you then deliver
  • Running the day-to-day backlog with an agile engineering team in Kraków: user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritisation, answering technical questions, keeping value shipping
  • Owning the reusable, document-agnostic capabilities every journey consumes: upload and camera scanning, OCR and data extraction, metadata and version control, secure storage and APIs, search and retrieval, retention, legal hold and deletion
  • Shaping the front-end experience for managers and colleagues, working with design and user research so uploading a document is quick and right first time
  • Onboarding new journey teams and business areas — qualifying demand, mapping it onto existing capability, and holding the ownership line between CDMS and the consuming team rather than agreeing bespoke builds that do not scale
  • Making CDMS self-serve: integration guides, clear feature and non-feature lists, decision trees — so teams onboard with minimal CDMS involvement
  • Owning the compliance outcomes: Right to Work coverage and data accuracy, retention, GDPR, access control, auditability and document reporting
  • Trading new capability against security hardening, NFRs and technical debt, and making that trade-off explicit rather than absorbing it silently
  • Defining and tracking OKRs, and building the measurement behind them — analytics, dashboards, upload success rates, performance and usability
  • Working with our third-party platform partner on requirements, NFRs and data migration, and representing CDMS to senior stakeholders across People Technology, People Services, compliance and architecture in the UK and Central Europe

Key Attributes: Team player who is well-organised, pragmatic, a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind, motivated to drive improvement, and focused on the colleagues and managers who use the product every day.

You will need

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of API design and best practices (essential) — CDMS is consumed by other teams through its APIs
  • Working knowledge of cloud services, Azure preferable
  • Understanding of document and content management concepts: metadata models and taxonomy, version control, access control lists, retention and deletion rules, OCR and data extraction (preferable, not essential)
  • Prior experience with an enterprise content management platform — OpenText/Documentum, M-Files, Kofax, SharePoint or similar — is an advantage
  • Understanding of handling personal data at scale: GDPR, data minimisation, retention, legal hold and auditability
  • Understanding of Tesco's technical landscape and API infrastructure, or the ability to learn it quickly

Skills Required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Aha!
  • Advanced stakeholder management across engineering, compliance and operations, senior leadership, and external partners
  • Superior prioritisation and time management with a value-based approach
  • Methodical, analytical problem-solving from first principles
  • Quick domain/product area learning capability — colleague documentation is a detailed, regulated domain
  • Strong presentation and persuasion abilities, particularly when saying no to a request that would compromise the platform
  • Collaborative team player mentality across a distributed UK and Kraków team
  • Ownership, responsiveness, and commitment to assigned work
  • Decisive decision-making under competing priorities and trade-offs
  • Agile expertise including user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to earn team respect and trust

Experience Needed:

  • 5+ years Product Management experience in agile/scrum environments, including ownership of a product or capability end to end
  • Experience of a shared platform, internal capability or global component consumed by other product teams — where your users are other teams as well as end users (highly preferred)
  • A track record of setting product strategy and then delivering against it, not one or the other
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority, and holding a position under pressure
  • Domain expertise in relevant functional areas/complex domains; HR/People, compliance, or regulated document handling an advantage
  • Technical competence to influence solution context and support engineering estimation
  • Understanding of technical debt impact and upgrade value
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers against a statement of work
  • Experience with OKRs (highly preferred)
