Nomba is building the financial operating system for African businesses. We help businesses accept payments, manage money, access banking services, and operate more efficiently across physical and digital channels.
Our business customers range from SMEs to large enterprises. They rely on Nomba for POS terminals, online payments, business accounts, transfers, virtual accounts, APIs, operational tools, and the infrastructure that powers day-to-day commerce.
We are looking for a Product Manager to own a critical part of this experience: how businesses transact, integrate, manage teams, use terminals, and connect to Nomba through APIs.
As Product Manager for Business Banking, you will own the product experience that business customers, developers, merchants, operations teams, and internal stakeholders depend on every day.
This is not a narrow feature PM role. You will work across multiple surfaces: mobile, web, Android POS terminals, internal operations tooling, developer APIs, virtual accounts, transfers, and web hooks.
Your job is to make Nomba’s business banking experience reliable, scalable, secure, and easy to use — whether the customer is opening a corporate account, accepting payments on a terminal, integrating via API, receiving money through virtual accounts, adding team members, or resolving an operational issue through internal tooling.
You will work closely with Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Customer Support, Sales, and Business teams.
You will own the end-to-end experience for business customers using Nomba’s banking and account products. This includes account upgrades, business verification, account approval workflows, and the day-to-day experience of managing a business account across mobile and web.
You will look for ways to reduce friction, improve conversion, reduce support issues, and help businesses get activated faster.
You will own the Android terminal product experience, including terminal payment flows, reliability, security, certification requirements, new device support, and merchant-facing terminal improvements.
This includes working on areas such as transaction routing, terminal stability, payment notifications, card acceptance, scan-to-pay, Apple Pay, international card support, terminal security, and device certification requirements.
You will treat Nomba’s APIs as products in their own right. This includes Virtual Accounts APIs, Transfer APIs, Refund APIs, webhook reliability, sandbox testing, API documentation, API key lifecycle, access controls, error handling, and developer experience.
You will work to make it easier for businesses and developers to integrate with Nomba, test safely, understand errors, and build reliable payment and banking workflows.
You will work with Operations, Compliance and Support teams to improve the internal tools they use to manage business customers. This may include account upgrade tooling, verification controls, audit logs, account restrictions, IP whitelisting, suspicious activity analytics, and other Watchtower/admin workflows.
Your goal is to make internal teams faster, safer and more effective without creating unnecessary manual work.
You will improve how businesses add, manage and invite team members across multiple business accounts. This includes identity edge cases, permissions, invitation flows, and support for customers operating across different markets.
You will define product requirements, write clear specs, manage the roadmap, prioritise the backlog, unblock engineering, review data, investigate customer and operational issues, and drive product delivery through sprint cycles.
You will be expected to balance new feature development with reliability, performance, security, compliance and operational improvements.
You will also provide clear product updates through Nomba’s product cadence, including weekly delivery updates, sprint demos, roadmap reviews and stakeholder communication.
Own the roadmap for business banking customer experience, POS terminals and developer platform surfaces.
Improve key user journeys; account upgrades, account approvals and business account activation.
Own product requirements for virtual accounts, webhooks, sandbox, API documentation and API access controls.
Improve terminal payment flows, terminal reliability, device readiness, transaction routing and merchant terminal experience.
Work with Compliance, Risk and Operations on KYC, face verification, account restrictions, auditability and regulatory requirements.
Work with Engineering to define trade-offs, sequence delivery, manage technical dependencies and ship reliably.
Use data to monitor onboarding conversion, API performance, transfer latency, webhook delivery, terminal stability and incident trends.
Drive improvements to internal tools used by Operations, Compliance and Support teams.
Improve the quality of developer experience, including documentation, sandbox coverage, error messages and integration flows.
Investigate production issues and help drive root-cause analysis and prevention.
Maintain a clear, prioritised backlog across mobile, web, terminal, API and internal tooling surfaces.
Communicate roadmap decisions, delivery status, risks and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
In this role, success means business customers can onboard faster, transact more reliably, integrate more easily, and operate with fewer support issues.
You will be measured by outcomes such as:
Faster, more reliable transfers and API transactions.
Better developer integration experience.
Improved terminal stability and fewer payment-related merchant issues.
Reduced operational cycle time for account approvals, upgrades and support workflows.
Better visibility into product performance, incidents, errors and reliability metrics.
Strong cross-functional trust with Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Support and Sales.
We are looking for someone who has strong product judgement, high ownership, and the ability to operate across complex financial products.
You should be comfortable working on products where customer experience, technical architecture, compliance, reliability and commercial outcomes all matter simultaneously
You should be able to simplify complexity, write clearly, prioritise ruthlessly, and build trust with technical and non-technical teams.
5+ years of product management experience.
Ideally at least 2 years working on fintech, payments, banking, financial infrastructure, SaaS, APIs, POS, or a similarly complex product area.
Experience owning product surfaces that ship regularly through sprint-based delivery.
Strong understanding of customer experience, product discovery, requirements writing and delivery management.
Ability to work closely with Engineering on technical trade-offs and implementation sequencing.
Experience using data, dashboards or SQL to investigate product performance and user behaviour.
Strong written communication and stakeholder management skills.
Comfort working with compliance, risk, operations and support stakeholders.
Experience with POS terminals, Android payment devices or hardware-adjacent products.
Experience with developer platforms, APIs, webhooks, sandboxes or technical documentation.
Experience with virtual accounts, transfers, payment routing, card payments or banking infrastructure.
Familiarity with KYC, AML, NIBSS, account restrictions, transaction monitoring or fraud controls.
You will do well in this role if you are structured, commercially aware, technically curious and execution-focused.
You should enjoy working in detail, but also know how to step back and define the bigger product direction. You should be comfortable moving between customer journeys, API behaviour, terminal issues, operational workflows, compliance requirements and engineering constraints.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to build core fintech infrastructure used by real businesses every day.
You will work on products that sit at the heart of how businesses get paid, move money and operate. The scope is broad, the problems are meaningful, and the impact is visible.
You will help shape the next generation of business banking, payment acceptance and financial infrastructure for African businesses.
