Business Description:

Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTI) is the technology team at the core of each of Blackstone’s businesses and new growth initiatives. Serving both internal and external clients, we work to build the next generation of systems that manage risk, create efficiency, and improve transparency within the firm and across our broad community of investors and portfolio companies.

BXTI is fast paced and entrepreneurial – our open, iterative design processes and rapid pace of development means that everyone on the team has the opportunity to make an impact from day one. We are problem solvers who can take projects from idea to implementation. We believe in active mentoring and developing excellence. We collaborate to find the best answers for our customers and for Blackstone. We are critical to the firm maintaining its competitive edge

Role:

This role is responsible for leading and executing product and project workstreams across a varied set of stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on engineering-aligned solution delivery. You will partner closely with Finance and Operations teams across the firm –including Real Estate and Private Equity to design and implement scalable, code-driven solutions that automate complex business processes and calculation models.

The ideal candidate sits at the intersection of product, business analysis, and engineering – either an engineer transitioning into product/business roles or a product manager/business analyst with strong technical fluency.

All projects are prioritized and selected to achieve measurable operational efficiencies and contribute to our stakeholders’ technology strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business needs into clear, structured technical requirements, including data models, logic flows, and system interactions

  • Partner closely with engineering teams to design scalable, maintainable solutions using modern programming languages and architectures

  • Identify and drive opportunities to re-platform or modernize legacy solutions into modern code-based implementations

  • Design, build, and implement solutions leveraging the most appropriate technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, cloud-based services)

  • Contribute to solution architecture discussions, including trade-offs across performance, scalability, and maintainability

  • Manage project delivery – define milestones, track progress, and provide clear updates to stakeholders

  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) with a focus on validating logic, data integrity, and system behavior

  • Oversee data migration, reconciliation, and validation, ensuring accuracy and auditability of outputs

  • Collaborate with offshore and affiliate teams with an emphasis on clear technical communication and alignment

  • Serve as a technical-functional bridge, supporting end users while guiding adoption of more robust, engineering-driven solutions

  • Promote and establish best practices in system design, data management, and process automation

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or software engineering, preferably in a hybrid or highly technical role

  • Prior experience in real estate or private equity along with knowledge of performance calculations, deal life cycle, forecasting, and investor reporting

  • Demonstrated experience working closely with engineering teams and translate business requirements into implementable technical specifications

  • Strong working knowledge of programming and data manipulation (e.g., Python, SQL APIs, data pipelines, or backend logic preferred)

  • Experience designing or contributing to code-based solutions (beyond configuration-driven tools)

  • Familiarity with software development concepts: version control, testing, modular design, and deployment practices

  • Experience with modern data/BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Sigma) with an understanding of underlying data structures

  • Exposure to cloud platforms or modern data architectures is a plus

  • Experience operating as a hands-on individual contributor while influencing technical direction

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with comfort operating in complex environments

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience bridging business and technical audiences effectively

  • Experience summarizing complex concepts succinctly for senior stakeholders

  • Comfortable working in a global, cross-functional team environment

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
