Job Description
We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
The Ford Motor Credit Company team helps put people behind the wheels of great Ford and Lincoln vehicles. By partnering with dealerships, we provide financing, personalized service and professional expertise to thousands of dealers and millions of customers in over one hundred countries around the world.
In this position...
- Are you ready to shape the future of fintech and operational excellence? Join the Ford Motor Credit Company (FMCC) Product Organization as a strategic leader driving our enterprise automation and intelligent workflow initiatives.
- In this role, you will own the product discipline around Ford Credit’s automation program. Ford Credit operates a large and growing production bot portfolio across critical domains, including claims, policy administration, financial reconciliation, compliance, and regional operations. As the Product Manager – Automation & Intelligent Workflows, you will act as the "connective tissue" between the business stakeholders who originate demand and the engineering teams that deliver technical solutions.
- This is a highly visible, cross-functional role that directly shapes what gets built, what gets retired, and how value is measured and reported across the enterprise. You will own the "why" and the "what" of the automation pipeline—focusing on business value, ROI, user experience, and strategic road mapping. While you will work closely with highly technical teams, your primary focus is on strategic product leadership—acting as the business-driven visionary who understands the underlying technology deeply enough to orchestrate high-impact, scalable AI and automation solutions.
What you’ll do...
- Identify & Scope Opportunities: Partner closely with business stakeholders, operational leaders, and demand intake partners to identify, qualify, and scope new automation opportunities.
- Facilitate Discovery Sessions: Lead deep-dive discovery sessions to thoroughly understand current-state processes, operational pain points, transaction volumes, exception rates, and upstream/downstream dependencies.
- Document Requirements: Translate discovery findings into structured use cases, process flows, and business requirements that seamlessly support downstream technical design and delivery.
- Feasibility Screening: Perform initial technical feasibility screening and route opportunities to the appropriate technology path (RPA, Power Platform, APIs, AI-assisted tools, or self-service solutions).
- Quantify ROI: Write robust, value-justified business cases with defined problem statements, success metrics, and stakeholder sign-off before work enters the development pipeline.
- Model Value Metrics: Quantify expected automation value, including hours saved, hard-dollar cost avoidance, error reduction, and process throughput improvements.
- Pipeline Prioritization: Apply a consistent, data-driven scoring methodology to rank and prioritize opportunities across strategic value, complexity, reusability, and development capacity.
- Backlog Management: Manage the prioritized intake pipeline feeding the development team, maintaining clear visibility into what is in flight, queued, or deferred.
- Track Value Realization: Monitor post-deployment performance, track value realization, and report ROI and portfolio health on a regular cadence to executive leadership.
- Bot Health & Triage: Monitor production bot health, triage operational exceptions, and coordinate change impact analysis when upstream systems or business processes evolve.
- Inventory Management: Maintain a comprehensive portfolio inventory, classifying automations by health, actual value delivered, and retirement candidacy.
- Standardization & Retirement: Surface patterns across the active portfolio to identify opportunities for standardization, component reuse, and the retirement of low-value or obsolete automations.
- Business Liaison: Serve as the primary day-to-day business-facing liaison for the RPA & Automation team, building durable, trusting relationships with operational and regional leaders.
- Provide Technical Guidance: Partner with the demand intake function to provide early technical guidance on incoming requests and help shape investment theses.
- Governance & Compliance: Support governance, compliance alignment, and audit readiness across the automated process portfolio, ensuring all workflows adhere to strict data privacy and security regulations.
- Executive Reporting: Contribute to executive-level reporting on automation program performance, strategic value realization, and overall portfolio health.
You'll have...
- 5+ years of experience in business/product analysis, product management, or a similar analytical, stakeholder-facing role.
- Proven experience modernizing legacy operations using RPA, workflow orchestration, OCR, or intelligent document processing.
- Background in Fintech, lending, originations, or financial services (highly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to write business cases, model ROI, and manage backlog prioritization from intake to delivery.
- Strong conceptual understanding of AI/ML models (including supervised/unsupervised learning and LLMs) and their application in intelligent workflows.
- Deep technical fluency in RPA and automation tools, with the ability to translate operational pain points into well-scoped technical solutions.
- Strong "product thinking" skills to connect localized operational problems to scalable, platform-oriented solutions.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts and data metrics into clear, executive-level business narratives.
Proven leadership in building trust and driving alignment across cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, legal, and compliance.
Even better you'll have...
- Background in Fintech, lending, originations, or financial services.
