About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on Product Manager to join a growing healthcare organisation where you can make a genuine impact.

Reporting to the Head of Product, Purchasing and Marketing, you will be responsible for identifying customer and market needs, translating these into product concepts, and leading the development, launch, and continuous improvement of products across your assigned categories. Working closely with overseas manufacturing partners, suppliers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders, you will drive product innovation, lifecycle management, quality outcomes, and commercial success across the portfolio.

This is a highly collaborative role working closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Clinical stakeholders, and international manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end product development process, from customer insight and concept development through to launch, optimisation, and retirement.
  • Develop and execute strategic product roadmaps aligned with organisational objectives, target markets, and customer needs.
  • Conduct market research and analyse customer feedback, competitor activity, emerging trends, and pricing to identify growth and innovation opportunities.
  • Develop product requirements, specifications, and briefs for suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Manage relationships with overseas factories, OEM suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support product development, quality, compliance, and commercial objectives.
  • Coordinate product testing, sample reviews, product improvements, and launch readiness activities.
  • Perform product rationalisation and product mix analysis to support portfolio optimisation and new product introduction decisions.
  • Develop and manage pricing recommendations and margin performance to maximise profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and promotional initiatives.
  • Ensure effective cross-functional communication and collaboration on product updates, training, technical information, and product strategies.
  • Represent Novis at industry trade shows, supplier meetings, expos, and professional events.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across product development and product management processes.

About You

You are a driven Product Management professional who thrives on identifying opportunities, solving problems, developing innovative products and bringing great products to market. You combine commercial acumen with a practical, hands-on approach and enjoy working across multiple functions to deliver results.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong focus on product development, engineering, factory engagement, and innovation.
  • Experience in Assistive Technology Product Management, Category Management, Product Development, or a similar commercial role.
  • Experience managing product lifecycles and bringing new products to market.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and product documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing abilities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Experience working with SAP and/or other ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Willingness to obtain (or already hold):

Desirable Experience

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Qualification in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in healthcare, aged care, assistive technology, mobility, pressure care, patient handling, or related product categories.
  • Experience working with overseas factories, OEM suppliers, or contract manufacturers.
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar).
  • Knowledge of Australian healthcare product compliance, TGA requirements, electrical safety, or Australian Standards.
  • Project Management experience or qualifications.
  • Experience supporting branded, OEM, private-label, or exclusive product development programs.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, bills of materials, and product specifications.
