Boardroom Appointments is recruiting on behalf of a leading technology organisation seeking an experienced Occupational Safety Solutions (OSS) Product Manager to lead the strategic direction, development, and commercial success of a specialised portfolio of gas detection and environmental monitoring solutions for the mining industry.

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially astute and technically credible Product Manager who can bridge customer requirements, engineering capability, and business strategy. You will own the complete product lifecycle—from defining the long-term roadmap and market strategy through to product development, commercialisation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the long-term product strategy and roadmap for Occupational Safety Solutions.
• 
  Drive product development from concept through to market launch and ongoing lifecycle management.
• 
  Gather customer, market, and competitor intelligence to ensure products remain aligned with industry requirements and emerging trends.
• 
  Translate customer and operational requirements into clear technical product specifications for engineering and development teams.
• 
  Lead cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Research & Development, Production, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Executive stakeholders.
• 
  Develop business cases, pricing strategies, go-to-market plans, and commercial initiatives that maximise product value and profitability.
• 
  Coordinate product testing, proof of concept activities, site trials, and validation programmes.
• 
  Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and market adoption to drive continuous product improvement.
• 
  Ensure product governance, documentation, certifications, compliance, and quality standards are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
• 
  Represent the organisation with customers, industry partners, and at relevant mining and technology forums.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technical, Business, or a related discipline.
• 
  Minimum 10 years' Product Management experience, preferably within mining technologies, safety systems, or industrial products.
• 
  Minimum 10 years' experience within the mining industry
• 
  Proven experience managing the full product lifecycle from strategy through commercial delivery.
• 
  Strong technical knowledge of gas detection instrumentation, environmental monitoring systems, or related occupational safety technologies
• 
  Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional projects and delivering products to market successfully.
• 
  Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, profitability, business cases, and market strategy.
• 
  Ability to travel to mining operations as required.
