Job Description

Create your best future and join Westpac as Product Manager, Cards and Payment Products

This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation, and a key priority for the Group. UNITE is about delivering 'one best way' to make our processes, systems and tech simpler so we can deliver a better experience for our customers and make things easier for our people.

  • Location: Sydney-based role only
  • On-site Requirement: 3 days per week in the office
  • Why On-site? This is a highly collaborative position involving regular face-to-face workshops and close team interaction, making in-office presence essential.

What’s the role?

As a Product Manager, you will support the delivery of Cash & Transactional Banking product transitions through the UNITE program, contributing to card simplification, migration, and platform rationalisation initiatives. Working within the Chief Transformation Office, you will help ensure delivery aligns with the Group’s strategy and transformation priorities, while supporting the execution of card product builds and migration activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will partner with the Service Owner and the broader product team to deliver the card migration roadmap, assisting with simplification, migration, and decommissioning efforts. This includes helping manage and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring work is well-defined and aligned to business and customer outcomes, as well as supporting readiness for customer and card migrations.

You will also support tracking delivery progress, identify risks and issues, and escalate where needed to maintain momentum. In addition, you will contribute to the overall UNITE delivery rhythm and help improve delivery processes across the program while applying your understanding of Agile practices and product management within a banking or financial services environment.

What do I need?

  • Experience in product ownership or product delivery, ideally within banking or financial services.
  • Understanding of cards and payments products, including customer journeys and lifecycle.
  • Exposure to customer or product migration initiatives.
  • Ability to support delivery in a structured, transformation-driven environment.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum practices.
  • Experience contributing to backlog management and prioritisation.
  • Relevant certification (e.g. SAFe Product Owner/Manager) is beneficial.
